It's a great option for people that feel uncomfortable in social situations

I think it's a useful tool for hooking up and for people who know exactly what they want in a long term partner. They'll get the best results. It provides a much larger pool to look thru. Personally, the shotgun approach doesn't work for me because I'm only really interested in certain types of women.

I tried it and I also met some people and even ended up in bed with them.
I didn't managed to get into a real relationship so far...

There are also a lot of data corpses available on these sites and even people who I have no clue what they are doing there if not trying to get into contact with other ones. I mean, you pay for the service in order to find someone who is serious, (lol at free sites), but even then, there are a lot of arkward behaving people out there.

Of course I haven't done that yet because I have no money, because its either 50/50 or 100% of the bill.

Just go to a coffee shop for a first date.  Or, as cheesy as it sounds, a walk in the park.  In my experience, those are better than dinner and drinks anyway, as thats what everyone else is offering.

no gracias, I know people who've tried it and it only lead to them being disappointed as those "relationships" rarely last more than a month or two.

It's nice to make initial contact, but sooner or later, it must end in a real traditional date to work obviously.

i tried it, but back in the days, the options were still limited. i was on a dating site for i think 5 years. I think I like had 7 dates out of those 5 years, so dont expect much. 3 of these ended in a one date only, one ended up in a friendship, two ended up in a 4-5 months relation, and i'm still with the last one after 12 years and 2 kids. So at least it was successfull.

I like being able to see if there are any deal breakers immediately instead of wasting my time. I'm assuming that people are being honest about themselves, of course.

I like to fool around with girls more than i want something serious so online dating is perfect for me i can't even count how many girls i had thanks to online dating so yeah i like it it suits me.

Call me a slut or whatever i don't care xD

It has worked for a couple of my friends, but never worked for me. To me, I just come off as begging.

I haven't tried it, but I have thought about it. I don't really go to clubs or social events that much anymore. Maybe I will find happiness again, but I won't know unless I try. I do however find it important to be honest. If I can't have my hobbies, then it won't work out down the road.
