Forums - Gaming Discussion - Fortnite is P2L and I love it!

Yes, fortnite is pay to lose and I couldn't be happier. My favourite update so far was the introduction of the astronaut costume with the orange lights which makes people stand out so good, especially in building windows when you normally wouldn't notice anything.

I've talked with a number of school teachers and apparently all the kids talk about is fortnite. Always bragging about their costumes and dances they've bought. One of the teachers memtioned there are parents quizzing him about the game wondering why their son feels bad they don't have something their class mates do. It's costing them a lot of money buying v bucks just so little Johnny doesn't feel left out. All they care about is having the newest cool dance or the newest costume.

Anyway I love it. Don't have to spend a penny and they make my life easier to find and kill. Meanwhile the devs make bank.

This is why I play PUBG.

We all know your tendanciees of defending FTP monetization practices. I don't think you should hammered how it doesn't affect you when obviously there's people that does.

But that story about these kids ... They're really following trends aren't they ... Nothing has changed much between generations I guess.

I wonder what's the next trend will be ?

I seem to not be aware of these tenancies. What ftp games have I defended? Not very many considering I can't think of any. Maybe warframe years ago?

F2P with microtransactions came to stay and won't go anytime soon. But it's funny to see all the people buying costumes in Fortnite that makes them easier to spot.

Cosmetic microtransactions are absolutely fine in a F2P game. Sort of like a fancy tip jar, more power to 'em.

Yes, fortnite is all my students talk about too, but I can already see it starting to wind down. Last year it was fidget spinners, this year it is fortnite, next year it will be some other trend.

Well, isn't that what makes it a trend?

I am probably never going to play Fortnight or PUBG. Although I loved Jet Pack Joyride, there are too many games I've paid for to start messing around with free ones.

More power to Epic. Wish they put as much effort into the PvE, I might not have uninstalled.

Did anyone see the new ClliffyB BR game? Holy shitballs. It's horrific.

Woops, I worded it wrong :p

I meant monetization in games (F2P,Freenium,P2W,etc ...) in general.

But yeah, microtransactions are tolerable when it comes to F2P since it's their bread and butter ...

You're not wrong there. I've defended it in a lot of games.

Fortnite is epic though. Best new gaming experience for me since cod4 revolutionised the fps genre. Just so much fun.
