Forums - Sales Discussion - PS4 crossed half a billion software retail already

PS4 2,320,561 (-6%)

513,050,583

A few weeks ago it passed this milestone according to vgchartz. This doesn't include digital obviously. This is a big milestone to pass so soon especially considering the rise of digital.

The average gamer getting older and digital sales offerings are destroying previous generations tie-ratios high scores.
Good to see the PS4 and the industry as a whole doing great.

RDR2, FIFA 19 and BO4 are guaranteed 10m+ sellers this year alone. RDR could hit 20m+ if everything goes well

So how long until it hits 750m retail? And will it beat the retails of the ps3, Wii and 360? They are all around 900m.

Finally can it hit 1BN retail only!

Thats amazing, wow. Very good for the console-industry.

Everybody love the PlayStation 4, so many wonderful games.

Just last month, I received the Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists and the Mysterious Paintings Limited Edition:

Also, I just purchased the Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus Collector's Edition this weekend.  It was on sale for $35 USD.

The Atelier Lydie & Suelle would count in the reported numbers.  The Wolfenstein II not so much since it was a very recent purchase.  It'll count for next time.

When do we get Q4 financials form Sony? I believe that they always give real software numbers too. That will give us real tie ratios. What would be even better is if they could provide retail vs digital but I doubt we will get that. It will be up to us to estimate what percentage of all software is retail. Any predictions for what the overall percentage is for digital might be?. .

Really looking forward to that too. I think we get their Q1 on the first of May. Not sure though.

On April 27, according to Sony investor relations site.

"lupus in fabula, venit enim ad me."

Translation: I will always hate Fox for canceling The Exorcist.

Since we know that digital is 50% of total (as defended in every thread that talks about SW sales, right?) then 1B total sales.
