Why do I get the feeling it'll just be one of your typical Nintendo games that comes out every gen.

Because those are the exact titles that make Nintendo systems' sales "very, very strong".

Better having one game per franchise each 3-4-5 years than being yearly to be honest.

I have nothing against Nintendo's tactic of releasing the same games every gen (in fact im waiting for the next Mario Party and 2D Mario game) as they sell tons for good reasons.  I just thought at first that this 'unannounced' would be something new or something 3rd party, but my gut just tells me its probably just another Nintendo game we could have already guessed.

-We do know that Fire Emblem and Smash is coming this year, and we know virtually nothing about both.
-Pokemon could come this year.
-Metroid Prime 4 and Bayonetta 3 we don't know yet.
-Rumors point to an Animal Crossing.
-We are still waiting for Pikmin 4 and whatever Retro is working.

So we know that are titles being produced while we don't know anything about those. If they show this and a few other surprises it could be a really packed E3 this year.

Ah, ok. I didn't interpret it the same way, sorry :P

And yeah, technically we didn't get a 2D Mario since Mario Maker and if we only count mainline games, then it's been 5 years since our "dear" NSMBU was out ...

Hope we'll get a reboot named New NEW Super Mario Bros :P

Or they could release New Super Mario All-Star as a filler title that should be good enough !

I'm betting on Pokémon for this one !

Hmm my guess is that it'll be called New Super Mario Bros Switch lol, I'm sure that's what majority would think too xD

I hope Nintendo releases a new 2D Mario!  I'm never blown away that Nintendo releases these typical games every gen, it's like a 'Nintendo-staple', but i'll be more blown away if they didn't!

Pokemon Switch 2018?

Now I am wondering what unannounced 3rd party titles does Gamestop know that we don't. Anyway here is what I predict in the coming months.

August: Yoshi
September: Super Smash Bros
October: Mario Party(ND Cube has a game yearly. This fits their quota)
November: A Big Nintendo game (Pokemon/2D Mario/Animal Crossing)
December: Fire Emblem. (The Xenoblade 2 of this year. )

This is a really good lineup. Might make up for the weak 1st 2018 half. What Gamestop is saying isn't too far fetched.

(killeryoshis note - Who put that there ?)
Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

Biggest pikmin fan on VGchartz I won from a voting poll
I am not a nerd. I am enthusiast.  EN-THU-SI-AST!
Do Not Click here or else I will call on the eye of shinning justice on you.

GTA V port and Mario Maker 2! Let's Go!

So it's GTA5 (I hope)... this, Smash and Pokemon, could easily push Switch to 20 million territory in FY19.

Edit:

Now I'm thinking that it could be Fortnite, PUBG or Overwatch ... where Fortnite is the most likely to happen.

I wonder if there might another collaboration-project like Mario+Rabbids. Nintendo and Bethesda seem very close these days
