You could take like ever you want this, but some people said Nintendo is blame for this while SE always announcing games way too early.

When comes to early announcements and delays, nobody really can't compete with SE.

Nobody has to be blamed ...

Nintendo fans got greedy by expecting the game to launch at the same time as the other versions in the West ...

There is nothing greedy about that when game was announced in same time for PS4 and Switch and we still dont know when Switch version of game will be out.

The game wasn't officially confirmed initially for the Switch, it was just in consideration when information about the game revealed ...

The people who wanted it to release at the same date as the Western release got arrogant and if they don't like that SE will announce a title no matter how far out from release then tough shit to them ... (How do fans of FF and KH feel ?)

Nintendo fans antagonizing third parties is BS ...

UE4 with other games have been ported over in a matter of weeks, this is BS I think to cover a deal made with Sony to delay the Switch version

I think any decent developer would have ported this game already. Why even release a port so late? They should start working on the next game and just skip this one.

It was confirmed to be in development for Switch in Dec 2016.
When the game released in July 2017 in Japan, I don't think it was unreasonable for people at the time to expect a Switch port before 2019/2020.
Considering the problems they had with engine capability though, I don't think people should admonish the developer for the delay.

People are being unreasonable like that, it's not the customers who get to announce the release date of a game in another format, that's the developer/publisher's responsibility and nobody can take that away ...

And yeah the people should quit giving Square a crappy attitude ...

It’s all up to the developers/publishers we get that. But in reading the second statement in regards to not knowing the Switch didn’t have UE4 running st the time, why put it out there that you’re considering it back in 2015 and then later confirming it in 2016? I think at this point, Switch owners are hoping for even a screenshot of it running on Switch. Heck, I’m sure Nintendo fans were hoping the 3DS version would come to the West, but alas, there’s only hope for the Switch version for now.

Both of you are correct, but most of nintendo fans though the games was "already "  being in the development "at the same time with the PS4 and 3DS version.

SE:
“We first announced the game before the Switch was even named the Switch, because we wanted fans to know we were working on that version".

You cant rely spin around this, Switch ("NX") version was announced too early and fans are not happy ofcourse because few years later we still dont know when game will be released while we know release date for PS4 version for West. Fans have good reasons to not be happy and to blame SE.

Dragon Quest XI for Switch officially based on the PS4 version, won’t be censored in the west
