I have a PS4... but Id play this on a PC.
I dont think this genre is overall something that works well for mobile play either, like you want to sit down and play these sorts of things, not in small quick bursts.

But I grew up playing like Baulders Gate/Planescape/IceWind Dale/Fallout on the PC.
So maybe thats just it, but I feel like this type of game is ment to be played with a mouse+keyboard, and sitting down when you have hours to immerse yourself into the story/world.

I'm not sure how D:OS works on console, but if they can get it so that two people can play on one Switch I think that would be pretty neat. I'm just not sure how much the Nintendo fanbase would care for an old-school CRPG. Hope it does come and that it gets more fans into the series. They're great games!

How many Switch-only gamers out there that would be interested in this type of game? Enough to make the investment of time and money worthwhile?

I could see it selling well in Europe since they have a deep love for CRPG and this would be a way to play D:OS portably. As to the core Nintendo audience? I have no idea. They like Nintendo games. They don't really seem to like much else (at least not on a Nintendo system).

Why Switch only gamers?  I own all three consoles and I still would get the Switch version due to portability.  In fact, more Switch owners share this mindset than you might allow yourself to believe.

So yes, it would very likely be worth the investment.

This game has nothing to do with BOTW in any sense. It's like saying it's like Pokemon because it has turn-based combat.

If you've played CRPGs you know that was a poor comparison and that there's nothing really like D:OS on Nintendo's plate. Nintendo fans I know were amazed that NPCs in BOTW had more than 1 line of dialogue most the time. To think what they would have reacted if they had to read paragraph after paragraph and making choices (not just yes/no choices that don't matter). It would be jarring to people who never played a CRPG if you just say, hey they is just like BOTW. Go play it!

So you're saying that you'd only buy the game if it came to the Switch?  How many others who own multiple consoles would only buy the game on Switch?

And what are you even talking about with the "allow yourself to believe" line?

Plenty of people would buy the Switch version for portability.  Heck half of the people on this very site have favored portability over being tied to a TV.  Just look at the people upset about a late Switch port and lack of US 3DS version of DQXI.

As for the last line, if you cannot fathom a decent chunk of gamers prefering portability over resolution and higher visual fidelity, you do the math on that one yourself.

You aren't even answering the question.  What are you even talking about?

You have absolutely no clue what I can or cannot fathom.  I've made zero comment about what I believe.  I simply asked two questions.  Stop making up arguments for other people.

This game is hard in short bursts. A single fight can take half an hour or more (in my experience, playing on the tactician mode) and may need multiple retries. Also, i think the game woks best with a keyboard and mouse, its certainly possible with a controller but it's iffy, imo. Still, if they can make it happen, I can't see why they shouldn't put it on the switch.
