Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior

Forums - General Discussion - Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior

I believe in a higher power. But don’t believe their higher power intervenes in our daily lives if we ask them to. Basically I think prayer is a big freaking joke. We hear that we’re given free will but then we hear that God steps in when we don’t do as he says. C’mon now! Also, we hear that he’s a loving God who cares for all beings and loves all his creations. Then we hear that he’s a vengeful God who is omnipotent and wrathful and will make you’re life a living hell if you don’t pray to him, obey him, and devote every waking moment of your life to him. Are you f***ing kidding me?!

Why do I get scared If I dont accept Jesus as my savior? I don't believe in god but apart of me believes. I don't know how to explain my situation ? might be fear ?

The whole point is to manipulate you through fear. Fear that your "sins" of this life will lead to an eternity of suffering in another, imaginary one. So, you must do everything they tell you and give them some shiny monies aswell.

Jesus is also an especially devious and manipulative God, if he were real, so i don't know if it wouldn't be worse if he existed.

I do wish a truly benevolant God existed, because we all wish there was more, in order to escape mortality. But, it is what it is. Make the best of it while you're here and then... rest.

It's just one man-made story among countless others. A story from a time when we knew so little of the world. Many things in the bible have been plagiarized from older Sumerian texts, so if I were to believe any of it, I'd have to go by the original stuff anyways.

What do you think when you hear this? Do you believe that God gave his only son to die on the cross for you?

Short answer? Nope.

Longer but not super long answer: It actually makes no sense. EVEN IF that Jesus guy actually did that 2000 years ago, or believed his death did that (which by the way has no historical ground) WTF did he save us from? Do you or anyone feel saved? Saved from what?

Diseases? Nope

Taxes? Nope

Wars? Nope

Death? Nope

Painful messy births? Nope

Rotting flesh after we die? Nope

A fat bank account for everybody on earth? Nope

I could go on forever and "Nope" would still be the answer.

.

In the afterlife if I get to be all powerful and mighty, I will torture and torment all humans to the end of time in the most evil and cruel way possible. In the meantime let's have a nice friendly time in the forum

Quite frankly, religious nuts and hardcore atheists are equally obnoxious, and both bother me in equal measure.

I think Jesus may have died, but at least we still have Olivia Hye, our new lord and savior

"Open your heart and soul to me, serve me and believe in me, so that you may be saved."

"...uh...saved from what exactly?"

"From what I'll do to you if you don't do what I've said."
