Yup. Jesus was a pretty cool guy.

Now I wonder how long it will take for this thread to go to hell.

Edit: Damn, auto correct.

Well, I mean, you know, he brought him back to life.

He's GOD.  Big freaking deal.  Seriously.

Besides, how does that even work?  Died for our sins?  That some kind of alchemy "equivalent exchange" thing?  If he sacrificed a cat, would it have taken 1 or 2 sins off the tab?

And what if I want my sins back?  I didn't ask for them to be taken away in the first place.  Can I sue?  Is litigation an option?

Really, the whole thing seems shady.

No. You can't just have me believe something without justification. If no justification is necessary, pretty much any belief can be justified.

And real talk: was it much of a sacrifice if Jesus could just come back to life? Big whoop.

It went something like this :

People can believe whatever they want to believe. I just wish they'd do so privately and not constantly try to drag the rest of us into their personal version of reality.

I believe Jesus might have been a real person and people made stories to make him greater then he really was and then wrote a book thats based on someone's crazy fantasy about a normal guy to explain things they could not explain or to make it seem like after you die there is something to look forward to when there is in reality simply nothing when you die.

No. I believed in god 'till I was about 8, but science has been my thing since then. I think alot of people need religion to make their life work, but I also think religion can be dangerous and potentiallly mentally damaging (Especially to young children)

There is pretty much zero evidence that Jesus actually existed. And even though I was raised catholic and made it to my first communion I was never a true believer the Bible always struck me as a collection of fairy tales and fables and not a very good ones at that.

Let us suppose that there is an omnipotent force:
Does it not seem weird that the ONLY way that such a being could forgive us for eating a piece of fucking fruit due to a talking snake - he had to impregnate a virgin, with himself, so he could be born, so he could eventually die in order to forgive us.

Don't even get me started on Noah's Ark, and how he was supposedly over 600 years old and all of that other nonsense. The fact that grown adults can even believe in such fairy tales, is quite frankly, terrifying.

Amen.
