Forums - Politics Discussion - Is David Hogg just a bully now? Uses followers to go on personal vendetta.

I'm loving the support he is receiving from Twitter and the corporate world in general. She is a bad person, plain and simple and any harm that befalls her is a plus in my book. This type of hateful rhetoric and public shaming is coming to an end, and if it feels ironic to some of you, that's just because the shoe is on the other foot.

No, he's just calling out that pathetic, hateful troll Ingraham for stooping so low as to publicly ridicule a high school student because he dared to question the NRA's influence over congressional GOP lawmakers after watching 17 of his classmates gunned down a few weeks ago.

Sounds like the little tyke is salty about getting rejected.

Wait, he's the bully?
Laura Ingram, with millions of Fox News viewers, sponsored by multinational companies, uses the platform she's been given to rally all her Twitter followers against Hogg with a petty personal attack, (which btw was pretty inaccurate, since he didn't really whine about not getting into any collage, and even said he's not surprised that he wasn't chosen because there are so many other brilliant people who don't get in either).

It's only fair that the investors of such shows are reminded if they really want to sponsor people who promote such behavior.
And at least 13 so far (last I heard) pulled their advertisement.

She's the bully here. And this is exactly how you stop bullying from someone in a much more powerful position than yourself.

They're both bullies. They're both commanding their own armies of mindless drones. The big difference here is Ingraham didn't stifle his ability to make a living, only commented on his inability to start one.

And let's not forget that all of these self-righteous 2A warriors bitching and moaning about the advertising boycott of Ingraham were the same ones who blacklisted the Dixie Chicks back in 2003 for daring to express their opinion about 'W' and the Iraq war. Hypocrisy reins supreme...

The lad is basically rallying his followers to a perceived insult. Basically she commented on his college applications saying this.

“Rejected By Four Colleges To Which He Applied and whines about it. (Dinged by UCLA with a 4.1 GPA...totally predictable given acceptance rates.)”

Hogg took this as a slight against him and went on to link Laura Ingrahams sponsors to his social media following in an attempt to cause a boycott. He got it alright, almost every company pulled out. Ingraham tweeted an apology.

Hogg did not accept. Further doubling down on his personal vendetta against her. These articles can sum the whole thing up better than I can.

Hogg was criticized by Fox News personality Laura Ingraham who made a comment about Hogg being rejected by several colleges and then complaining about the rejections; in response, Hogg urged people to boycott Ingraham's advertisers.[46][47] Within two days, fifteen companies had ceased advertising on her show.[48] Ingraham apologized for her remarks,[49][50] but Hogg rejected her apology, saying she had only apologized because firms had been boycotting her show, and he said that he would accept her apology in the future if she denounced the way that her network had been treating him and his friends.[51] By March 31, 2018, Hogg was urging his followers on Twitter to boycott Arby's restaurants, which is continuing to advertise on Ingraham's show.[52]

How scary is this is this outrage mob. This has absolutely nothing to do with the survivors of Parkland or any matter that he protests this is a personal vendetta against a perceived negative comment.

In other news the NRA keeps profiting from donations, this kid and his outrage crowd. Near tripled donations and profit since the Parkland shooting. No matter what the media say, this is obviously because of the rhetoric by the outrage crowd, calling anyone who disagrees with them child killers and the media parading these kids around like puppets. I have to question why democrats and left politicians want guns to be taken from Americans so bad they will stoop to using kids to push their agenda.

She's the bully here. She personally attacked him, unprovoked.
And this is exactly how you stop bullying from someone in a much more powerful position than yourself.
Hit them where it hurts. In this case, the wallet.

Who to believe ...

I am pretty sure he is a raging narcissist, doing whatever he can to stay in the limelight.

I think they are both bullies but i give Hoggs a past because of what just happened to him.

This is great, the source isn't even in the OP for me to read it myself.

Bullying is attacking someone weaker than you, for no particular reason.
That's what she did. She's significantly more powerful than him both on both TV and Twitter based on followers.
She will be able to 'make a living' without those advertisers. But it's very fair to ask those advertisers if they want to be associated with her behavior. She is the one who alienated them. Hogg brought attention to her behavior to the advertisers.

And he hit her financially, a place she seems to be unable to hit him.  "Punching up" doesn't mean anything when there are real world ramifications outside of muh feelz.

Andthere's plenty of reason to make fun of him, along with most hard leftists. They exert so much control over everyone... I'd love to see a normal company look them in the eye and tell them to grow up.
