I think with Pokemon and Smash coming out this year, 20 million is realistic. I suspect that Nintendo's prediction for 20 million was predicated on Labo which was a hige miscalculation. On the other hand, if you look at Amazon, you'll see the most wanted list is dominated by Nintendo (outside of cards and controller). Pokemon Lets Go topped it from its announcement. There is also the real possibility of more third party games such as Fortnite coming to Switch which will certainly help. So I think Nintendo will at least meet 20 million but wont exceed it by much more.

Pretty much sticking with this even post-pokemon announcement. I'd only be inclined to make a slight adjustment to 17.5-18.5m.

You realize that Nintendo was aware Smash and Pokemon were coming BEFORE we were, right? Those were absolutely a part of their calculations. Anything announced for this year at E3 as well.

These 20 million predictions don't make much sense. PS4 is going to outsell Switch by several million units by the holidays so even if Switch did outsell PS4 in the holidays, it would have to do so by 3-4 million. Not going to happen. Unless you expect PS4 to sell 22 million, Switch isn't doing 20.
