Before Nintendo even considers cutting the price, they will offer better value bundles.

For example, a $299.99 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle.

Wow, they don't have one? I thought they might have had one for certain countries?

Nope, every bundle so far has been a limited, premium bundle like the Splatoon 2 or Mario Odyssey ones that came with the game and a few extras for $379.99.

Not until the supply exeeds the demand, wich will be far off.

If it isn't turnbased it isn't worth playing   (mostly)

And shepherds we shall be,

For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee And teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritūs Sancti. -----The Boondock Saints

Nintendo needs to do is launch a great game that sells consoles. The last one was Mario Odyssey and the next one will be Smash, which would be almost a year between the two. That makes sales slow down a bit. Hopefully in 2019 they do better at the time of launching their great games (Do not get me wrong, the pace of 2017 was too high and it is understandable that this is reflected in the 2018 launches), at least one in the first part of the year and another in the second.

Also, in 2019 the pace of third-party games coming out in switch should be higher. That could help a little

Not right now, maybe next year. Black friday bundles should be enough for this year (like Switch + MK8D for $299 or something like that). Next year (2019, it could use a pricecut to $249 to stay very competitive.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I'd like to see a price cut but commercially there is absolutely no reason to do so with the current sales.

Nintendo's general policy of at least breaking even on the hardware may be the limiting factor. This is just my own speculation, but: We all know about the NAND memory shortage that restricted Nintendo last year. For them to up their order for FY2018 to those 20 million units, the odds are that they paid a higher price on such components to move up in priority. Even if they didn't, primary component prices don't seem to be dropping yet, which means Nintendo's profit per unit is likely unchanged at best.

And if Nintendo's still roughly keeping pace with Sony despite not having any AAA releases right now to counter all the PS4 heavy hitters coming out, then they don't really need to drop prices yet. Or, more importantly, if Nintendo is keeping pace with its own sales estimates.

Thats not a good enough reason. Maybe they can do a temporary one like the PS4 in last novemeber. But nah.

Especially when you got games like Smash, Pokemon, A new Monster Hunter game and Animal Crossing which haven't released yet.

I would say when there is a new Switch SKU (Switch mini or XL or somethin) thats when we can dtart seeing the normal Switch SKU go down a little.

Pocky Lover Boy!

I'm almost a 100% sure that they are not even considering it.

I'm amazed at how fast people have forgotten that they rode the Wii U for 4 years with just one $50 price cut.

It likely won't be awhile until the system gets a price drop. Sales may be dropping a bit because a bit of a lack of big titles currently. I figure that'll start to change once games like Smash Bros drop in later in the year.

They should just leave the price as is and replace it with a more powerful model next year and also come out with a cheaper pocketable version of it as well at a lower price.
