By selling something for less money you make less money off of it.

I know that, but how much does each Switch sold earn Nintendo?

I don't know, but it's really not relevant.  If I could sell something for 300, and I only sell it for 250, then I'm making 50 dollars less than I could have.  So, that's 50 dollars less profit than I'd be making regardless of whatever profit I would make off it originally.

The Nintendo Switch doesn't need a price cut right now. It is doing really well despite not selling as much as the PS4 in the past few weeks.

No. I mean buy 1 get 1 would also double units sold as well.

Just needs more big ticket games. Indies are fantastic but wont move the hardware like a Zelda or Mario.

It's first year, that just ended, was one of the best ever worldwide and you think it should get a lower price since it's behind peak PS4?

Riiight.

Isn't it still tracking above what PS4 did in 2015?

I think that, because for the past few weeks it's been just behind the PS4 in hardware sales, the Nintendo Switch needs a price cut, unless it's too soon to take such measures.

Who here thinks it should get a price cut, and who here thinks it doesn't need one?

Well that makes no sense whatsoever!

Maybe in 2019. A price cut now would be Nintendo just throwing money away.

What does selling a little less than PS4 have to do with a price cut? PS4 is just coming off a 20 million sales year! If they sell close to that this year, and the Switch is only a little behind, that'll be phenomenal sales for Switch's second year.

Before Nintendo even considers cutting the price, they will offer better value bundles.

For example, a $299.99 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle.

Wow, they don't have one? I thought they might have had one for certain countries?

On January 31st, Nintendo projected the switch would sell 2.87 million units from Jan - March. It looks like they are going to meet or exceed that figure easily, so I don't see Nintendo as concerned or interested in a price cut, unless they had already been planning one all along:

I think it's too soon to even consider it.

For most of it's life, Switch was understocked. And that makes it very hard to determine how it can do in a situation where demand is met.
So far, what we can see is that there is a lot of potential to do better (if we had a better release Schedule we would certainly see that). We may or may not see that potential be fulfilled (really depends on the second semester), though.

Lowering the price on a system that might be a few months away from entering it's best years (again, better release schedule), might just be counter productive.
For exemple, Wii could have been priced higher, thus making Nintendo more money; Switch could avoid that because it's price is, well, just right (at least in it's strongest market): not to low and not too high.
