are you fucking kidding me? So you would call 6.9 a 6 instead of a 7 like that guy did.....

Yeah, I actually would.  For the same reason I wouldn't consider a D+ a C, as illustrated.

Bare in mind, that I'm not hating or throwing shade at Sea of Thieves.  I have an Xbox One, but online focused games aren't my thing, so this doesn't interest me either way.  I just don't think it's that hard to comprehend why someone wouldn't consider something a "7" until a 7 actually appears in the number.

If there are more bad scores below 7 pulling it below an actual "7" than there are good scores to pull it above an actual "7", than yeah, it's not a "7".

So would you say horizon is 8 and not a 9, based on its 89 metacritic score?

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Typical MS spin... put together best selling 1st party MS new IP together with total users (which include multiple accounts and the gamepass)... you won't ever know the right amount of sales.

They didnt really spin anything. They said it was the fast selling MS new Ip and then gave us the total amount of players. The last time MS gave us units sold for a game was Halo 5. So they dont like giving sales numbers.

They didn't gave straight sales number for Halo5 as well, they said they had shipped 5M and that the revenue of Halo5 (which included the bundled consoles) was 400M... MS THIS GEN doesn't like to talk about numbers, you mean right.

And Sorry, the spin and wish to induce people to associate the fastest selling with the 2M is quite obvious after seeing they spin so many times.

But yea MS does not like giving sales number this gen. With gamepass being a thing now were probably only gonna get amount of players siince MS is trying to push their fans to sub to gamepass than buying the games.

Well MS is more like doing marketing and PR so using the most favorable number, like stop talking about consoles sold (stopped to talk about it when they were about to ship 10M) and even XBL gold users, and using MAU.

If the shoe fits.  If there are more reviews pulling it into the 80's than there are to get it into the 90's, than yeah.

Outliers should be taken out when determining score.

People are rounding to make it seem better. The score is 6.9. That's in the 6s. It's below average.

You are rounding it down to make it seem worse than it is. And I really wonder why. What do you have to gain by doing this?

Now, since you're basing your claim based on the score it has on metacritics, do you even know what is considered average there?

Here:

Notice how it says "Mixed or average reviews based on 51 Critics"?

Yeah. It's an average score. Not a bad one. It may be bad by your own metrics (whatever they are), but it isn't so by the metacritic metrics.

The average as 5 is totally wrong as you don't have many games below 5 or a 5 game being considered average. A 5 is considered very very bad, while for forum goers 8 is more what is considered average to good, 7 is on the bad part as far as review go... besides that the user review is even lower.

Considering the game had 35 of its 51 reviews as mixed shows the game isn't on the good part of the spectrum as far as metacritic goes.

Kid comes home from school with 4th grade math test in hand.

Son:  "Hey, dad, I got a D+ on my math test!"

Dad:  "A D+?  Well, that's basically a C, so congrats.  Let's go out for ice cream."

He doesn't get sprinkles though.  Sprinkles are for winners.

are you fucking kidding me? So you would call 6.9 a 6 instead of a 7 like that guy did.....

If your school grade to pass is 7, a 6.9 won't get you a passing grade... Quality using 6Sigma have 3,4 defects per million or 99.99966% approval it still isn't 100% or pretended to be. Also if you get 3,5 instead of 3,4 per million (which is even smaller difference than your 6,9 to 7) you failed to achieve 6 sigma and could have a finding, fine or lose a certificate... So nope, 6,9 isn't "almost a 7, so let's consider it as if it were"
