Eventually.

Not because I'm a boycotter, but because portability makes this the best version, and I've doubledipped on way too many Switch titles this console cycle.

In your opinion.

Others will consider the game being best on their respective platforms in one way or another.

He is right tho, but the question is can switch really portable with it's 2,5 hours batteries life???

Actually i am waiting for the 3DS version, and PS4 version. But oh well . Reality sucks, i guess i will just buy the consoles or the PC.

You should say because this is my preferred version or the version that works best for me... But the best version? Like your opinion is objective and the ultimate truth no one can disagree with?

So let's work with your words: How is this the best version? First, chances are it will be graphically better on other more powerful systems, second if portable is your thing it means you'll play it on the go on the Switch screen so how is playing on a 6" 720p screen objectively better than playing on a 55" screen at home?

And third I don't understand the argument of "on the go" is better than at home. In my opinion being a gamer is to have a relationship with a game through a screen ok?

So how is the game better or more fun or anything like that when you play your game in the streets with the background noises, the cold, the rain, people passing by, cars honking and so on, how is that better than me playing my game within the comfort and quiet of the 4 walls in the main room of my home? If you care about the game in front of you, why do you absolutely need a change of environment around you? Shouldn't you be focused on the game and not the environment?

Some people prefer gaming on the go and that's fine if it's what they want, I'm just trying to say that I don't get why?

Don’t question the portability guys, it’s a cult at this point.

Growing DQ in the West is a smart strategy, because it has become a better franchise than Final Fantasy IMO.  Although I'm going to wait for the Switch version.  Right now I'm looking to get every multiplat game on Switch.  It's just a better format all around.

How is the Switch 'just a better format all around' for a game like this?
Say I have no interest in playing games on the go. What are these all around features that makes Switch just better for me?

Well it is definitely the best format for me.  At this point I am collecting way to many consoles, and I would prefer fewer consoles with large libraries than having a ton of consoles hooked up to a TV set.  Not only is Switch portable, but carts are smaller and more durable than disks.  I plenty of retro games, so the graphical difference between Switch and PS4 doesn't matter to me at all.  Instead I just want a large library of games that are reliable and easy to store in as small a space as possible.  For all the things I want, Switch is clearly better.

No, that's based on his own opinion. Making it portable doesn't automatically trump the other versions coming out.

Also the portable battery life in general for the device is short, while the other's can game indefinitely.

I think that was already obvious given the way he worded it.Unless you go out of your way to state otherwise, its usually your own opinion you write about when the post is yours.

Some people like to present it in a way that they mistake it like it's a fact, when it's really just an opinion.

At this point, Square announcements of games feels like a joke.No release date or even footage of the Switch version is basically a disservice to the fans. But at least the game is comming rather soon to the PS4.Depending on how good the game is and how much it ends up costing for me to pick it up where I am, I will buy it at launch

Which fans?
If I am a DQ fan I would be more pissed that the 3DS version of DQ will not be localized and that is a disservice to the long time fans that is more interested with the 3DS version. 3DS ver. can let you choose between 2d and 3d which can be a unique experience.

Anyway, I am also going to defend SE with in regards with the NSW version.
Take note that DQXI is using Unreal ver. 4.13 and NSW is only compatible with Ver. 4.15. It's a possible that they encountered a problem with porting the game. Also, NSW is using an expensive format. As someone pointed out that DQXI PS4 version is taking 30GB of space. You have to take account that there is still no VA on the Japan version.
A straight up port from japan version will be stupid because it will be seen as a sup bar version. It leads me to think that they are planning to use a different version for the Switch they could be doing a chibi 3D version but more beautiful and a 2D version. Maybe that is the reason we are not seeing any screenshot for it and there's no 3DS version for the west.
or Maybe Hori announce it prematurely when NX was announced and they didn't expect that it will be a lot harder porting the DQXI to NSW.

For your first paragraph, lets just not go there. As seen in this thread, there are many that are interested in all versions. So saying that one version is more desirable than the other will lead nowhere.Everyone can claim she/he is a bigger DQ fan, and that will just lead to insults. But I will admit that I have zero interest in the 3DS version, and thus I am biased against it.But deep down, its also a shame that its not comming west. The best case scenario would be for the 3DS version to be bundled with the Switch version, but thats a pipe dream.

As for defending SE, I think they are at fault here.First of all, they shouldnt have announced the game so early for the Switch then. That just elevates expectations that will take a long time to be met, and will just lead to this. But thats an overall problem with Square, not this game in particular.Second, this version has been, at least in theory, in development for at least 2 years.Depending on the engine, like you mentioned, it may be more difficult to port over a game. But it dosent take in any way more than three years, at least when you are trying to do a good job at it.Thats the time you take to make a game from scratch. If thats the reason, then whoever is working on that port is simply incopetent. If Square announced the version but took its sweet time to start working on it, then Square was at fault for having no foresight.Even worse, if they are making yet another version of the same game, they are even dumber.First of all, because its simply easier to port overn what you already have(either the 3DS or the PS4 version), which is what everyone wants.Second of all, because as far as I know, few people really like the chibi artstyle and honestly, when compared to the other version that have been made, it would be a huge dissapointment.(yes yes, its my opinion and all, but I dont think I would be alone on this one)

Given the time they had, I cant see how its not incopetence of some form on Square side. You could maybe say that they want people to double dip, but that wouldnt negate my arguments, and at this point I think its simply stupid for them to do so.Switch hasnt got a big enough userbase to make that number that significant, nor is the fanbase in the west that big.And the place where the double dippers would be in a bigger concentration would be in Japan, where both the PS4 and 3DS version have already launched. And after two years, they dont have a measly single footage of the Switch version ready? Not even in japanese?Im not asking for any miracles, as far as I can see.

Or maybe you are being overzealous and a bit paranoid?

I mean, if I were to be "correct" with my opinion, I would have to give a warning to the reader every two or three lines that whatever I wrote was my opinion.
