I'm glad God of War is April and not March has MLB the show 18, Ni No Kuni 2 and FarCry 5. These three titles can draw in a boost of console sales for those who don't have on yet or for those upgrading to the Pro. Also pre-orders for God of War should also increase in strength. And then we have Detroit in May. We're solid until we need to look at what comes out in June.

Hopefully Spider-Man comes out in june

Recent rumors gave it a Sept release

So this keeps PS4 up YoY right? Or am I mistaken? Heck everything is up YoY from what I see. The Switch staying good and steady and he XB1 is having a great 2018 so far! Also thank you for the hardware updates! They are very much appreciated!!!

There's a dedicated thread that tracks PS4 2017 vs. PS4 2018. If I remember correctly, 2017 has taken the lead a couple of weeks ago and is extending it.

Of course, 2018 consists of VGC estimates, so there's the possibility that in the future adjustments will be necessary in light of official numbers from Sony.

I think I remember that but 2018 is still up though from what I calculated.

From eyeballing the graph I put VGC's current numbers at:

First 10 Weeks of 2018:

PS4        -   3.14m
Switch   -   2.37m
XBO       -   1.16m

First 10 weeks of 2017:

PS4         -   3.08m
Switch    -   1.62m (2 Weeks Only)
XBO        -   0.9m

So everyone is up, PS4 only a little, likely due to the insane Q1 lineup last year. God of War will help it gain back some ground against the likes of Horizon, Persona 5, Nioh, RE:7 and Gravity Rush 2. Luckily MHW already dealt with most of it.

Okay sweet so it is still up slightly! I think March will be a good solid month with Ni no, MLB and Far cry then April will see some pretty big sales to keep 2018 ahead of 2017 for a little while longer......which is insane in itself. Especially with GOW coming, from that latest gameplay preview IMO the game looks amazing, fluid and very solid Can't wait to get my hands on it.

The PS4 sals really impress me to still be up like this. And the Switch looks like it will have a great year as well along with the XB1!

ps4 will beat switch by around 100k next npd or slightly less.

That's some strange over confidence right there ...

With GoW around the corner? Not sure about that.

Next NPD means march, god of war isn't involved.

100k lead for PS4 is way too high imo.

3ds did 270k it' first February, same as switch, march it did 225k. i expect similar results, while ps4 march always follows the same trend as FEB.

3DS 2012 vs NSW 2018

Jan-160k vs 270k

Feb-260k vs 280k

Mar-225k vs ????

Why are you assuming it will follow the same trend as 3DS in March when it didnt in the first 2 months of the year?

Well you have to add 125% to 3ds 5 week vs  4, so 3ds  would be at 200k. other wise feb and march have been on a similar pattern for the past  4 years, and since 3ds is the most recent nintendo console i can compare too, i think it will follow a similar pattern

Of course GoW is involved...have you missed the gameplay reveal? Plus there is no system seller on Switch and don’t expect everyone to wait until GoW releases for it to have an effect on hardware sales.

Factoring in the extra week doesnt change anything, Switch had a much softer Dec-Jan decline and a much softer Jan-Feb gain so its currently not following the same sales trends as 3DS in 2012.

i know it's not but i expect it to drop a bit for march, i'm thinking 240-250k for switch in march while ps4 does 340-350k.
