'That's a first playable and that's what we agreed. But we went all the way and did a straightforward port on every sub-system, and then some. We still have some work to do, but it's already running close to 30fps in most cases."

Sounds bizarre but wouldn't be the first bizarro thing to happen.  Yooka-Laylee actually ran better at launch on Switch than it did at launch on Xbox One.  A lot of time has passed, it's possible they've bottoned things up more behond the scenes.

Or not, just a possibility.

It is a ton of fun, very damn popular, but performance has been a huge issue, it has improved a lot in recent times, uses Unreal Engine 4

Well, the goal isn't necessarily to create a killer title, but to bring a number of titles like these to increase appeal.
