None knows how many trials were used but the MS employees. The 1m number was reported in the games first 48 hours before any reviews went up. There are definitely people that used their trials to play SoT. MS probably wants them to so they can get into the service and buy a subscription later. But saying a lot of people did is just an assumption.

Sales numbers aren't as important anymore to MS since their games are on gamepass.

So you assume that because MS wont publish sales numbers any more that makes the sales numbers low?

Ever thought that MS don't care about sales numbers anymore because there focus on Digital and Game Pass services?

For a game like this, it is not how you start but how you finish and if the gamers are already getting bored, the purpose of being a game as a service goes out of the window because once gamers leave the game with a bad impression, it is hard to make them come back.
