Forgot to put Dark Souls Remastered, Dragon Ball fighters Z, minecraft and fornite, they all released on 2018 for the switch.

They didn't chart on NPD for their months

I dont think the switch is doing great. For Nintendo standard, its just ok,. Remenber, this numbers are for home and handled, they used to have.

That was a close one. In the end the poorly paced releasing schedule for the Switch that did them in. PS4 had great releases all the year while Switch had more spots with nothing major. Well done Sony :>

PS4s peak year is still this generations peak year by a slim margin. Could the Switch beat it next year? :>

I should probably just ignore this post. But it's such a poor effort that it at least has to be pointed out.

Incredible victory for the PS4!

It had no system sellers in 2015, compared to NS with Pokemon + Smash, and PS4 also had the higher price tag.

PS4 didnt had system seller games in 2015.!? Now I saw everything. :)

In any case, great numbers in any case despite PS4 won year for around 100k, but if I recall that was peak PS4 year in US, while Switch should have easily stronger 2019. year than 2018.

Basically a tie. That's a decent result for the Switch after the disappointing first half of the year. This thread shows how far we've come: Before the Switch launch the consensus was that it wouldn't sell more than 50 million units. Today people say sales aren't that great because the Switch didn't outsell the PS4 - so the expectation for the Switch is now to be the market leader and the best selling console of the next few years.

3DS+Wii U only did 5.1 million in their 2nd year while Switch did 5.6 million in its 2nd year.

So PS4 stays on top. To be honest, Switch sales arent that amazing considering now they are only selling 1 console now as opposed to console + handheld like previous generations. Respectable sales, but nothing to amuse about.

That would make sense if it wasnt ahead of 3DS+Wii U in their 2nd year.

3DS 2012+Wii U 2014-5.11m

Switch 2018-5.63 million

Big picture Switch sales is 17mil 2nd year; worldwide. That's nothing impressive at all.

Why do you believe that's not impressive?

Ok worldwide year 2

3DS+Wii U-17.5m

PS4-17.5m

NSW-17m

If Switch sales arent impressive than neither are PS4 or the combined sales of 3DS+Wii U.
