Well he hasn't brought up Smash which is wise, it launches in December and has an extremely passionate following, so suggesting RDR2 launching more than a month prior will take the wind out of its sales is ridiculous.

But as for October sales, the impact of the Smash and Diablo bundles - the Pokemon bundles are November - will be almost entirely comprised of preorders.  Which have accumulated ahead of RDR2's launch and currently track quite strong in the NPD predicting tool.  So even if RDR2 launch distracts from them momentarily, it won't make much difference in terms of the impact of those bundles on October NPD.

People that buy Pokemon games are Pokemon gamers, casuals and kids, totally opposite audience from something like RDR2, not to mention that we talking about very different platforms, one is hybrid with portable play, while other is just a home console.

He seems confident because if Smash and Pokemon does well it’ll goes against his overall narrative for the Switch.

If Pokemon Let's Go fails to meet series norms, it's because it nevercatered to hardcore or even intermediate fans. Not because of Red Dead Redemption 2.

This doesn't even make sense. They're aimed at completely different demographics, they're on completely different platforms and they're releasing in completely different months.
