Um do you not remember 12 hours ago when you made a big deal about Switch 2018 vs PS4 2015 being unfair because its a 53 week vs 52 week year?

You misunderstood big time, the only thing unfair was the month of January comparison since you didn't mention important info in the beginning  , which is a easy fix.

Yes, 371 days vs 364 days puts PS4 at a huge disadvantage.

ugh do you want to have serious conversation or just want to mock me? I mentioned January because people want to see the trend of how these consoles are selling for there first 2 months, and having a week extra is a huge difference in such a comparison.

You can't have your cake and eat it too. You can't make ridiculously wild claims, change the definition of what's an acceptable comparison according to who's winning, ignore facts when they don't suit your agenda AND ask to be taken seriously. You have to chose.

Matt from NPD was mocking people for acting like a 5 week vs 4 week January is a big deal last month.

who cares what matt thinks. he thought  switch would take 40% market share this year, he wants to ignore the  extra week to make it seem like January did better then it really did when its obvious  it was just a regular jan in terms of hardware units sold, just with xbox doing slightly better and switch/super nes mini included.

Didnt Switch have like 33% marketshare last year in the US?

40% doesnt sound too crazy, it needs to be up slightly with PS4/XBO down slightly.

Hopefully Switch's success will put to bed once and for all the dumb doom and gloom predictions that Nintendo might one day go under and be relegated to third party. That's always been less likely to happen than even Sony. Nintendo has a natural ebb and flow when it comes to popularity, and even during their lows they always bounce back. Their place in the gaming industry is well cemented and has been. Can't see any future in the industry without Nintendo as a first party, unless the whole industry radically changes at some point, and even then Nintendo would likely weather the storm and come out successful again at some point.
