Something tells me the "Days of play" sales will give the PS4 a good boost though so I'm actually expecting a closer month than we would usually get

Well, from the chart we can see the spike in sales the days of play did - it's just that afterwards PS4 sales dropped below where they were before the days of play.

In other words, it preempted sales a bit, but didn't change total sales a lot.
