A little of topic, but all these varied rating systems being combined into one score makes things sketchy.

Like, 3/5 might mean 60%, but if that same site used a 100-point scale they would not give 60/100. Works the other way as well. 3/5 comes off as "good", 60/100 comes as "mediocre"

If someone gives a game 5/5 it doesn't always mean 100/100. If the same reviewer used a 100-point scale the game could easily be in the 90-95 range. Again, 5/5 comes off as "excellent", but 100/100 comes off as a "masteerpiece"

It doesn't matter what it "comes off" like if the scoring system is largely the same.

If we are talking numbers, then yes. Of course.

But read a 3/5 and 60/100 review of any given game. the 3/5 review will be always be more positive.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Well that really just highlights the problem with subjectivity and trying to connect objective measurements to the subjectivity of the human mind ....

...Goddamnit, it ALWAYS points back to subjectivity and "objective" reviews. FUCK. I really need to make a MegaThread on this.

Nah.

You can't stop me, though.

If you want to play that game, I certainly can. We don’t need a MegaThread on that.

Wait, are MegaThreads something mods have to approve? Like an official thread?

What if those are also only for mod approval? =P

Then I'll just have to ask Rol.

Sooner or later the publications with "xbox" in their name will run out. And then this will drop even further.

I just hope it stays above 67 so I'm not too off.

But that’s how those ratings have been for every game for a long time, so it’s still an even playing field.
