Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Getting a Nintendo Switch + Zelda tomorrow..

Personally, my criteria for buying a console is if there's enough games I'm interested in to warrant the purchase. If you feel that way about the Switch, I say go for it.

One plus thing about the console is taking it with you on the go. It definitely helps to pass the time if you're on a trip or have to wait for something. It came through for me a couple of times.

If you're into turn-based RPGs Mario + Rabbids is excellent and right up there with Odyssey and Zelda in terms of quality. Highly recommend!

All I have to add is BotW isn't worth what it got on MC. I'd say it's a solid 91-93.

That is also what i'm thinking as well i mean seventy perfect scores on MC.. FREAKING SEVENTY!

There is a chance that it's overrated, i guess i will find out soon.. and even if it is more in the range of 91-93 that's still amazing and i can't wait to play it.

I say it was overrated, but it was still my goty

So... did you do as you said?

I’ve played a lot of games in my life, and Breath is my favourite ever. That’s an amazing feat, since most of my favourites benefit from decades of nostalgia or the innocence of youth. This Zelda is the culmination of decades of video game innovation.

Yup :3 i freaking love it Switch is amazing and so is Zelda so far.. 380 euros well spent! I have some gripes with the console but they aren't anything that hasn't been said already.. the awful stand on the back for example and i wish it felt better and more secure when you put it in the dock,  also the analog sticks could have been a bit better but they are fine.

It is amazing .. but i already knew that wayyy back when it came out. Right after i saw how the game looked and played on youtube i knew it was something special and that i might have to buy the Switch one day to play it.

Glad you are enjoying it! Became a major time sink for me and i'm sure you will find it at least 100+ hours well spent.

-Get a screen protector and a hardshell carrying case.  (you can get both from Hori on Amazon for cheap and will never regret it.)

-When you have the extra coin, the Pro Controller is the only way to fly.

-Hori makes an awesome little fold out stand for Switch for tabletop mode, that allows for the charger to be plugged in during use if wanted.  It's like $12-15.

Does the screen get scratched easily ??

I don't use a screen protector. Quite frankly I'm not sure how people scratch their screens. I just make sure not to rub the screen against the front of the dock when I put it in or take it out and so there is no possible way for it to get scratched. I just slightly lean the Switch back going in or out of the dock.

The screen is plastic, instead of glass to allow give if dropped or banged.  Plastic, being much softer can be scratched much more easily, and there were plenty of posts floating around the internet saying that the rails in the dock that the console slides into were leaving marks.  Fortunately, even if it were to happen, the rails are not sliding against the viewable portion of the screen, only on the bezel.  Strangely enough, it's the backside of Switch that the rails are leaving wear marks, on mine...but whatevs.

Personally, I have put screen protectors on all my handhelds, phones, U gamepad etc over the years...so Switch got one day 1 as well.  For ten bucks or so, it's one less thing to worry about.  A case is nice so you can just toss it in a bag or in your vehicle and not worry about it getting banged up...plus it holds games, etc.

Zelda BotW, MK8D, Splatoon 2 and Mario Odyssey is killer combination for Switch. :)
