Americans that probably support Trump can spin Europe news however they want, its not like they get anything besides "we're better than everyone else"

This man deserves it and as a dutch citizen i approve this action.

The fine for sexism can vary from €50 to €1000. So the majority of these €3000 is because of the other charges.

My money is on "contempt of a police officer".

EDIT - In my country a woman was fined 800€ for posting on her facebook a picture of a police car parked in a place reseved for disabled people.

Don't mess with cops, people.

I think sexism is disgusting, however it seems unlawful for someone to be imprisoned for speech.

This fine exists partly bc of sexism, namecalling and harrasement *menacing behaviour*

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Eh. I'm generally pretty wary of stuff like this, but this particular case seems pretty clear to me. It's not like the guy didn't know what he was doing was wrong. I mean, you can't call someone a whore and expect the other party to take it well.

He wouldn't be imprisoned for speech, he would be imprisoned for not paying the penalty.

Good for him! He learned a valuable life lesson.

He probably didn't.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

More proof that we're slooowly but surely regressing back into the dark ages..

This article exists only because of sexism, despite it being the lesser of the charges.
