3. List the third party games you own as a number. Also note how many of them you own in physical (P) or digital (D) format. A lack of notice for the format will make the games default to digital (D) in the statistics.

Why discriminate so against 3rd-party? Why not list all game, no matter the party?

All of your games have been recorded as digital titles. Should any of the 32 games you own be in physical format, you will have to say so.

my bad, rol. all of my third party games are digital, and all my first party games are physical. i told myself i would only buy first party in physical format for this generation.

so i have four games in physical format:

botw, arms, splatoon 2, and super mario odyssey

1-2 Switch (P)
Arms (P)
Fire Emblem Warriors (P)
The Legend of Zelda: BOTW (P)
Mario + Rabbids (P)
Mario Kart 8 (P)
Snipperclips (D)
Splatoon 2 (P)
Super Mario Odyssey (P)

3rd party: 3 (D) 15 (P)

Systems I own: Switch, Wii U, Wii, N64, Retron 5 for my Ness, SNES, Genesis, Gameboy line games, Dreamcast, PS2, New 3DS.

First Party:
The Legend of Zelda:  Breath of the Wild (P)
Super Mario Odyssey (P)
Fire Emblem Warriors (P)
Arcade Archives:  Super Mario Bros. Vs. (D)  <--- is this the right spot for this?

Third Party:
Physical (9)
Digital (40)

Everyone, take a look at this user. Not only did he follow the instructions, he went one step further and listed his games in alphabetical order. Amazing.

Yes, Vs. Super Mario Bros. is a first party title. It's one of the digital-only games where there should be no doubt that it is first party, so I haven't and won't add it to the list in the original post.

Summary for the first 24 hours of this thread's existence

The Google spreadsheet is set up properly and shows plenty of statistical data. 40 people have been registered, they own a total of slightly above 600 games, resulting in a tie ratio of 15 games. First party games are bought in physical form 74% of the time, third party titles skew heavily towards digital (only 23% physical) due to many games having no physical option. 36% of all owned games are first party, so third party software accounts for almost 2/3 of the total.

The leading game in physical form is Breath of the Wild; 97% of the people who own the latest Zelda have it on a Switch game card. Breath of the Wild is tied with Super Mario Odyssey as the most popular game, both being owned by 83% of all recorded Switch gamers so far.

Tie ratio is 15? Nice. I'm bang on average in that respect then!

Thread Introduction

1. Only games that you actually own count. If you sold, gifted or lost games, then they do not count. Should you sell, gift or lose games after you've submitted them at a previous point in time, it would be welcome if you provided an update on your state of ownership.

2. List the first party games you own by name. Also note if you own them in physical (P) or digital (D) format. Games that are not noted as either format will default to digital (D) in the statistics.

3. List the third party games you own as a number. Also note how many of them you own in physical (P) or digital (D) format. A lack of notice for the format will make the games default to digital (D) in the statistics.

4. Do not edit your posts. It's only going to be a hassle to sort such a mess out. If you have an update or correction to make, create a new post because this will ensure that your update/correction is seen.

I figured it was implied but we are not counting 1st or third party demos are we?  Also would conversions of Demo -> Full Game Purchase be worth tracking or of interest?

Just note the ones that say Nintendo on them.
