Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I'm back. Also I bought a Switch.

Welcome back!

I don't have a Switch so I can't recommend any games, but if you're going digital, get your self a big enough SD card. It's even mandatory for some games like NBA2k18.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Ah yes, I remember you. It seems like a lot of people here are getting Switches, hopefully it means that people can organize some tournaments for online games.

I remember the avatar at least. Welcome back, everyone needs a Switch for when Tom Nook arrives.

He's coming.

So how about those PS3 sales?

Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Stardew Valley are good choices. I would have them both in this list if you didn't have them already.

Games Similar to Zelda & Stardew Valley:

  • Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (Good Adventure JRPG)
  • Minecraft (Perfect Switch Game)
  • Skyrim (Good RPG)
  • Octopath Traveller (Good JRPG)
  • Golf Story (Has unexpected adventure/story/RPG elements, like stardew valley)

(Also you mentioned you had a Nintendo 64. There's a bunch of good games that will feel nostalgic):

Good N64 era types of games:

  • Super Mario Odyssey (Best Mario game in a decade. Similar to Mario 64's open environments, gets 10/10 reviews almost everywhere)
  • Yooka Laylee (Similar to Banjo Kazooie (Made by the same people))
  • Snakepass (Good 'N64/PS1/5th-gen era' type of platform game design)

Good Multiplayer Games:

  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (Good Multiplayer)
  • Fast RMX (A futuristic racing game that plays like F-Zero and Wipeout, Good Multiplayer)
  • Redout (Another futuristic racing game that plays like F-Zero and Wipeout, Good Mutiplayer)
  • Rocket League (Good Mutiplayer)
  • Splatoon 2 (Good Multiplayer)
  • Arms (Fun Simple Mutiplayer)

Other good games you may like:

  • Bayonetta 1 & 2
  • Doom
  • Dragon Quest 10
  • Lego City Undercover
  • Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle

Good Future Releases:

  • Bayonetta 3 (Also Bayonetta 1 & 2 if you haven't yet played them)
  • Metroid Prime 4 (Also I bet Nintendo will re-release the HD Trilogy of Metroid Prime beforehand)
  • Monster Hunter World
  • Dark Souls Collection
  • New Pokemon
  • Super Smash Bros
  • Okami HD
  • Crash Bandicoot Trillogy (HD remake)
  • Seasons of Heaven
  • Dragonquest 11
  • Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Wii U Port)
  • Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Wii U Port)
  • Starlink
  • Kirby Star Allies
  • Kona

Unconfirmed (but I'm sure they will be) future Releases (Wii U Ports):

  • Super Mario 3D World
  • Zelda: Wind Waker HD
  • Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X
Also there is a tone of really good indie games worth looking into. Like Celeste, Owlboy, Little inferno, Shovel Knight, Axiom Verge, The Last Night (future release), Strafe (future release), Riverside (future release), Undertale (future release), Little Nightmares: Complete edition (future release), etc ;)

Hello, sailor airman.

I've been loitering around here for years and remember seeing your posts in years past. Welcome back. Switch is a fantastic little machine - you're already inundated with game recommendations. What kind of stuff are you generally into?

Generally some shooters, action/adventure, and RPG's.

It's interesting though because being a portable console this kind of changes up my interest in what kind of games I'm looking for. Like I normally haven't been into the huge RPG's lately but for some reason having a game like Skyrim or Xenoblade on the go is an awesome thought.
