Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Switch has a surprising lack of local multiplayer games

Yea once you get through part of the single player you are able to play with friends locally.

I guess at this point there isn't much to add to this thread. Personally, I don't really have problems finding MP games to play with friends on it, and another one is coming in the form of Kirby.

All you really need is Splatoon, Mario Kart and Smash.. well i am happy with that.

There is Pokken Tournament, and Mario Tennis Aces and Yoshi are comming

But yeah, they are not the focus as it was in the Wii U.Thank God for that.

Yeah... fuck people playing together in front of the same tv. Isolation, that's where it's at!

He never said anything like that, so stop exaggerating. A prime example is Super Mario 3D World, as that game couldnt stand up to its predacessors due to the llocal multiplayer focus. In that era, they SOLELY focused on those sorts of games.

Now, there is something for everyone. Besides, you have a lot of options for local play. Pokken, Arms, Overcooked, Snipperclips, mariokart, bomberman, rocket league, and mario and rabbids.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

The Wii U didn't solely focus on local. Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros... there was a fine mix of everything.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

I didn't notice, but it's totally not creepy that you're watching me closely enough to attempt to evaluate my mental disposition.

Not... creepy... at... all.

I dont agree with OP btw.... I think Switch already has too many Local Multiplayer games or just Multiplayer games in general.

Should focus more on quality single player experiances.

Add Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition and Kirby Star Allies to "Single or Co-op Games"

That´s a pretty huge list, and with no mention of games that has local wireless multiplayer, like Splatoon 2.   I also don´t agree with the OP

The Switch has a surprise lack of Indie games.
It also has a surprising lack of Japanese developed games.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
