People said the same about Monster Hunter guess what they were all wrong.

So every game has to become hack-and-slash, or action-driven? Castlevania, Monster Hunter, Final Fantasy, Resident Evil etc. Thank you, I'd keep the excellently crafted turn-based battle system, and rather them focus on improving other aspects of the game.

Baffles me how most people don't seem to understand how deep the Pokemon battle system actually is.

Did you quote the wrong post or do you not know how to read? Serious question because nothing about hack and slash or any battle system was even said in my post.

The only reason Game Freak would do this is that they're lazy: They dont want to have to model/animate over 1000 pokemon at one time. A reboot would allow them to focus on waaaay smaller batch. A reboot to cut corners.

I suspect this is speculation, not a leak.
Why? because it’s the logical conclusion. I think it’ll happen.
It makes perfect sense with the Switch version being perhaps the most important step in the franchise since the original Gameboy. I am not a Pokemon fan at all, not in the slightest. I can’t name 5 Pokemon after that first generation - but I can name a few dozen from the first, and would likely recognize every single one of them. Having a big re-focus on those, and perhaps new additions/reimagination of sorts, would be a tremendous win for Nintendo and the Pokemon company.

It could still be a leak, but I would say most likely logical speculation by someone who wants attention.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

But pointless. Because everyone would want support for all their pokemon. It would be a worse problem than all the limitations between R/G/B/Y G/S/C. Bank would be seriously restricted in use. Sun and Moon already got bad hate with the National Dex not being in there at all. Especially after the release of the Ultra games. Rebooting for the sake of rebooting is lazy and boring. Especially with Pokemon. Which has had remakes for the original games all the time. They take 4 years to make new games. They reissued the games all the time as 3rd versions. They remove features every time. IE: Pokemon following you from HG/SS. They have billions in money. Use it.

If reboot means finally making a game for the huge fanbase im in.
Kids will join in even if there is a good story or have a hardmode.

There would be no "their" pokemon. A reboot is clean slate and no one should expect "their" pokemon. I just KNOOOW a big part of the  reboot will be done to reduce work load. Totally Game Freak thing to do.

Rebooting for the sake of rebooting IS lazy and boring. That's exactly what they're gonna do.

I'm all for a reboot, especially if it's simplified.

It shouldn't. The games do absolutely nothing to promote that depth. You've never been forced to do one complex thing in and campaign Pokemon battle since the first games 20+ years ago, so how would "most people" find that out?

Possibly by playing competitively. I'm guessing that's what the original comment was referring to.

DON'T WIN ME CHIBI BUDDY DON'T WIN ME.

ANIMAL CROSSING NEW LEAF FRIEND CODE:- 5129 1175 1029. MESSAGE ME.
ANDY MURRAY:- GRAND SLAM WINNER!

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

I wouldn't call it lazy since we don't even know how much new Pokemon they are potentially developing. Unless, you probably have a good idea on how to model/anime over 1000 Pokemon in HD and space/balance them out within an HD Pokemon world...and within 2-3 years. And if people are expecting the Pokemon Company to use most of its $1-2 billion value, then that would be a complete waste as projects, even if they're HD projects, shouldn't have to cost $400-500 million for production and marketing. Not even GTA V had that kind of production and marketing costs.

I don't get it...it's as if the previous games weren't for the huge fanbase.

This would be the smart thing to do, a reboot of the Gen-1 Pokemon games with all 151 Pokemon (and maybe a few extras) and environments in full 3D with an open world structure and Pokemon that can be observed in the wild and approached / battled at will instead of random encounters. Plus this year is the 20th anniversary of Pokemon's release in the west, so Nintendo could tie into that as well.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
