I would be shocked if God of War managed to sell less

Thing is, we may never know. SoT sales will be digital for anybody on the Windows 10 platform. Then there's Game Pass which completely skews the data, further. Unless we have a press release (something M$ is not keen on doing), we may never know. Hence why everybody is arguing revenue.

Edit: Corrected neer to never.

I'm expecting Sea of Thieves to flop hard so... God of War.

Bon Appétit!

God of War will sell more, but Sea of Thieves could come close to it in total downloads due to gamepass, and game pass trials. God of War looks promising as it is a story based game with 20 - 30 hours of game length, but even then that's not enough to me for a $80 price tag.
Sea of Thieves will be much better considering it has unlimited replay-ability.

Thats not a sale though.

Also think I heard God of War campagne was ~35hours.

With 0 progression system, and no way to better your character/ship, and only cosmetic upgrades.... yeah I just dont see it lasting.
More than 35 hours? sure, retain players a month or more? nah.

Question is do you want:

35hours of great story telling in a singleplayer experiance you remember

or

just some random fetch quests without any story in empty sandbox mmo.

Not even remotely close. God of War.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

The doom peddling going on here is ridiculous. The game is vast and it will be updated regularly. This thread is going to be so much fun to return to.

I mean I much rather have Sea of Thieves for $80 since it has no limit on play time and I will surely drop a hundred or two hours on it over the course of a few years, a much better deal than a story game that I play once for 30 hours within a week, and never touch again. GoW isn't worth $80 imo since it lacks play time, maybe $40. I don't know, I think buying GoW for $80 is the equivalent of going to the bar and spending $100 in one night, waste of money for an experience one will forget.

I think this is where people differ. I for one would pay that $60 on a memorable 35hr experience, than pay $30 for unlimited boredom.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Yep, people just have different tastes. I was shocked today when I checked my Dead By Daylight stats on Xbox and saw I’m almost at 900 hours. And it cost me $30. Good luck to any single player game ever made to match that kind of longevity and value.

If your looking for that you will be shit out of luck as there are very slims picking there. But Most people who are into single player story games are into games like GOW.
