Agree, the Wii looks more plain horizontally. But it still has the glowing oval shaped DVD slot! Another way to uglify the Wii is to plug in GC controllers or even GC memory cards. Basically, every Wii is wireless though, something you can'T say for all of the competitors.

The thing I don't like about the PS3 is that functionally the design is an ineffcient use of space. Not everyone has a lot of space, especially people in Japan where many people live in very small flats. It just seems so un-Sony like to make a design guffaw like that.

I find PS3 the nicest in design. Even if there were no games for it.... I did not regret buying it. The design stands out so much that it can be used as a decorative item. Wii has the ugliest, but most practical design. It is a white box! Looks like a first aid kit. The blue glow is very beautiful though, which makes up for it... The 360 has some curves, but it isn't sleek like the PS3. It is kinda chunky and weird looking. Like a shoe box getting crushed in the middle. But the 360 has features that allows you to make it look excellent, such as face plate. Seen the blue dragon face plate.... It looks great!

There's always someone out there that thinks the PS3 is ugly/nive, the Xbox 360 is ugly/nice, and the Wii is ugly/nice. However, I mostly hear people criticising the PS3, or Xbox 360, for being ugly. Some people just don't like the new, futuristic look of some of the consoles of this generation.

I find the oval shape ugly because it's feels like it should be oval both sides, but then it isn't or it couldn't stay on it's side. Being half oval makes it look awful on its side, and not being fully oval makes it awkward when standing.

 What, you don't unplug your GC stuff after you've played? Get some box nearby to stash it in!

Never been a fan of oval/rounded consoles. The Wii wins easily for me, and I *think* I like the PS3 slightly more than the 360 (don't like that "sucked in" look at all). Then again, the PS3 is just too BIG - WAYYY TO BIG.

I think Sony made the ps3 big so they could design a slimmed down version in the future. I wonder if those who like the PS3 now will think that it looks ugly when they do.

The majority of Dell towers are probably the ugliest designs I've ever seen since the Compaq "rhino" design.  They look like the interior of a 1996 Chevy Cavalier -- and that is not something you want to look like.

The 360 doesn't look as bad as a Dell tower, but I laughed pretty good when I saw that comment.  I think the 360 loses, the Wii wins, and the PS3 comes in a very close second.  The grill comparison is humorous, but I think the George Foreman grills are designed to look attractive -- and the PS3 is sleeker and even more attractive, if somewhat similar.
