Forums - Music Discussion - Your top 10 music albums of all time.

Well people were talking about favorite bands and stuff before, but for me the most interesting thing is to talk about albums. Some would know I went on a 9-hour car trip this past weekend (twice, of course), so naturally I listened to a lot of albums, and some that I hadn't heard for a while impressed me a lot and got me thinking about this.

No senseless rules here, you can list 10 from the same band or whatever.

Around the Network

Weezer: The Blue Album
Tom Petty: Full Moon Fever
Lost Highway Soundtrack
World of Warcraft: OST
The Best of New Order
Marilyn Manson: AntiChrist Superstar
The Ultimate Bee Gees Collection
Sleigh Bells: Bitter Rivals
Pearl Jam: Vitalogy

edit: Hole: Live Through This

10 albums I can listen to on repeat from start to finish.

Okay, here goes mine. (yes Curl, I'm stealing your meta!)

10. ...Like Clockwork (Queens of the Stone Age)
9. Perfect Strangers (Deep Purple)
8. Burn (Deep Purple)
7. The Resistance (Muse)
6. Out of the Blue (Electric Light Orchestra)
5. Origin of Symmetry (Muse)
4. Abbey Road (The Beatles)
3. Brothers in Arms (Dire Straits)
2. Songs for the Deaf (Queens of the Stone Age)
1. Time (Electric Light Orchestra)

I gave this a fair bit of thought and I'm happy with the list. There's some other albums I really like but couldn't fit in, like ELO's Eldorado, DP's Machine Head and The Battle Rages On, U2's The Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby, and more. But the 10 that did make it in, I love them all.

1. Nice back - Silver Side Up
2. Jay Z and Linken park - Collision Course
3. Eminem - Curtain Call

In no particular order:
Iron Maiden - Seventh Son of a Seventh Son
Iron Maiden - Powerslave
Judas Priest - Painkiller
Nightwish - Century Child
Queensryche - Operation: Mindcrime
Led Zeppelin - IV
Helloween - Keeper of the Seven Keys part 2
Ayreon - Universal Migrator
Avantasia - The Mystery of Time

and too many others to list. I couldn't even pick a 10th album, since I would be leaving out so many great albums from bands and artists I love.

Some great choices. Was contemplating some Maiden for my list (Piece of Mind probably... or Brave New World), just not enough space though.

What made you go for The Mystery of Time over all the other Avantasia albums?

Just the first one that came to mind from Avantasia to be honest. I could have just as easily picked at least three others from them, but just wanted one to represent them.
