Forums - Movies & TV - Do you think Black Panther is better than Thor 3?

I enjoyed Black Panther more than I enjoyed Thor: Ragnarok. Overall the aesthetics of Thor were a turn off to me. I didn't care for the way they handled Sakaar and I feel like the soundtrack was far too forced.

It’s a better movie than Thor 3. But Thor 3 has more re-watchability to me

Thor 3, to me was boring and very textbook in terms of its action and story. Visually it was fun, but thats about it. The mix of childish and dry humour was a no for me.

Black Panther, with its poor cgi and lack of action (very noticeable) on 2nd viewings will age quite badly. Still a good movie though. Great writing and characters especially the ladies. In fact, Tessa was the highlight for Thor for me.

Yes, Thor 3 was good but it felt like they just made a Guardians of the Galaxy movie without the Guardians. Black Panther was more inline with Captain America 2, and I liked the dynamic that Wakanda faced with foreign aid and and community by race. Rather than point fingers in relation to the real world, Wakanda as a country has a very unique position as an advanced African society.

See, Tessa I felt was the weakest actor in that movie. But I do agree on BP cgi. Hopefully with the sequel they wont make that mistake again, knowing how much money this one made.

Easily.Thor 3, while a good movie, was too comedy heavy for a movie that wanted and needed to be taken more seriously.Personally I think that they made Thor too much of a jester.Black Phanter on the other hand is much more balanced.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Thor was more funny...but Black Panther had Vegeta! (Yea he's a big fan)

Not even close for me. Black Panther was a competent hero's journey with some good characterization and back story fleshing out conflict and world. Thor Ragnarok was painful to watch, just a train wreck of tone and attempts at humor. I laughed more during Black Panther because they felt like people rather than children's cartoon characters.

Hahaha, wow! This wasn't a coincidence was it?

Thor 3 was alot better in my opinion, not really close actually. Thor 3 was fun and epic - not very smart, but exciting. Black Panther was, at best, a 6/10 for me - Black Panther is a considerably more boring character in his own film, than he was in civil war. There wasn't really any good action sequences (except for the car chase) and the visual effects were very bad by marvel stanards (Those damn rinos) - No really good characters, but a somewhat passable villain. There were some good art direction going on and some interesting ideas, but yeah.
BP was better than Thor 1 and 2 in my opinion, but nowhere near 3.
