The Nintendo brand name has been on over 700 Million units of hardware and over 4.5 Billion units of software has been sold on Nintendo platforms over a space of what, 35 years?

PlayStation might be *the* brand right now in modern times, but Nintendo is probably always going to be *the* brand when we're talking "best ever".

I'll have to go with nintendo. They have been arpund foe a while. Hell my first two consoles were nintendo consoles.

The Playstation is very popular too and now its brand is even used in TV (PS Vue) but nintendo is the OG.

Yakuza basically is. From the PS2, to the PSP, PS3, PS4, and companion apps and minigames on the Vita.

The series has only been on a non-Sony console once, and it didn't sell well.

Its audience is on Playstation.

Manufacturer brand? Nintendo.

I'm confused by the poll. Listing PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo together is like listing Cheez-Its, Oreos, and General Mills together.

Nintendo isn't the only occasion where manufacturer brand and product brand are effectively the same thing though. Take Coca-Cola for example. That's the product brand, and is used in the name of the actual company too. Nintendo is pretty much used in the same way, every one of their consoles is known as a Nintendo something.

Not necessarily. Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Wii, and Wii U didn't have "Nintendo" in their branding.
