I lost interest when I could no longer look past the fact that it is annually poorly coded and bug ridden. Oh, that and it's monotonous beyond belief. Start match, try to kill people, end match, start match, kill people, end match etc.

I think it was black ops 2 was around the time I was truly done with the series. It was the straw that broke the camel's back so to speak. I just got tired of the small maps, unrealistic short ranged guns, spawn killed and getting tore up by dudebros running around with pistols. I prefer realistic gunplay and strategy that's closer to the real thing.

World at War was the last one I played online. Played MW2 single-player and SpecOps. That was the end of that. Just lost interest.

I was first introduced to the series when I entered the 7th gen back in 2009, and between then and 2013 I played MW1, World at War, Black Ops, MW3, Black Ops 2, Ghosts... eventually I just burned out. Annual releases are just too often for any series IMO.

I used to buy them all but I quit playing when this gen began. The last one I purchased was Black Ops 2.

I did get one for free from a friend but I gave it away.

Modern warfare 3. by that point all of my friends and I were hooked on bad company 2 then we never looked back

After playing other big shooters you realize how dated and broken the engine in COD is. Visually it has improved, but the mechanics are still stuck in 2003.

Started losing interest with mw3 but still played a couple after. Black ops 3 was the last one I bought. I don't rule out the option of getting into the series again, especially after mw remaster and the new one which are tempting me.
