Forums - Sales Discussion - Amazon U.S. March bestsellers and general Amazon-based discussion

So it's fair to say then that Nintendo published games are by far more important when it comes to game sales for the Nintendo platform then? That Kirby had and has fairly little competition when it comes to vying for the attention of Switch owners who already have last year's big evergreen titles and want another Nintendo game? Because that was basically the gist of my prior argument.

Your problem is that every post you make literally implies that only Nintendo Games matter. That's why he is arguing your point;

Also this is an Amazon thread so why don't you two take this to private messaging instead?

I mean, have you seen this thread?

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=231643&page=1#

According to that thread's data by just looking at the top 5, you have 5 Nintendo games which have sold 30 million total copies.

Looking at every single other game, including #6 which is a game with Mario on the cover, has a combined sales of 17.6 million copies. Meaning that the top 5 games account for 63% of the retail sales and the other 87 games account for 37%.

Sure looks like only Nintendo games matter. That's not me. That's just data. There is no parity. It's Nintendo games or bust. Or you can be like Ubisoft and throw Mario on the cover to get some sales.

Okay you know I meant that's what it sounds like to you. Even then you are just saying the top 5. There are games in that top 10 that aren't Nintendo games that have obviously sold more than Nintendo games. There are 8 million sellers there, probably 10 by now since we are exactly two months after that chart on that thread. Nintendo games May be the biggest games there but they are not the be all and end all of The Switch. Now let's just move on past this and return this thread to what it's suposed to be.

For the love of...

Can we get ONE effing month where the thread doesn't go to utter shit?!

Yes, once people stop feeling the need to discredit successful products by making arbitrary excuses of why they are successful.

Actually I think it's healthy and more interesting to have these debates. You might not agree with their opinions but doesn't mean it can't be said.

Damn, just two weeks and SoT is completely gone from the Top 100. I doubt that fastest selling bit holds up, now.

Is zelda sold out?

It's not like Ryse, Re:Core, and Quantum Break had great sales after their releases. It just highlights how weak the new IPs exclusive to X1 have been this generation.

Its #3 on MS digital store and MS usally has the highest digital attach rate so probably lots of the sales are digital.

God of War will probably become the best selling exclusive title of 2018 when it releases. Then I suspect Nintendo may push ahead with Smash Brothers. Either way, I expect a 2.5 million first week for GOW.
