I'm not sure why people are melting down so hard from such a generic statement. To make the jump that they're going to ban all video games is kinda silly.

I didn't say all video games, I said games with mature content, like Mortal Kombat.

It's just Trump shifting the blame to someone else (as usual) when he should be blaming himself. This is practically corruption in plain sight, and more evidence of the Trump administration sending America down the toilet.

Even his best friend Putin is turning against him. Didn't think he'd get the West nuked THIS fast.

He needs to blame himself for what exactly? Surely you don't blame Trump for the Parkland school shooting. That'd be rather absurd.

Looking at bolded, you see why it's difficult to take what you say seriously....

To jump to such strawman is also rather silly.

On topic though any blame/taxes or basically moves to say that video games cause or have any impact on school shootings is just pathetic, look at other countries which have games just as bad if not worse (curse you japan) than America and then see what number of school shootings those countries have had in 2018 so far.

It's just deflection away from the one thing that America has more of than anywhere else and is always a part of school shootings... I mean... I've not heard of anyone putting the box to GTA against someones temple and pulling the trigger.

Did you miss the video Putin released of him nuking Florida?

I didn't see the video of nuking Florida, but I heard about the address he made that they had weapons that could reach the US. Do you believe that Russia will initiate nuclear warfare on the US?

I'm in no way trying to defend the stance of video games are the cause of school shootings or any other type of absurdity. There is no documented link.

I'm just not willing to take a leap to think that his office meeting with industry execs means much more than that.

If the meeting takes up even an hour of time which should be spent on the actual reasons for these shootings then it's counter productive, there has been a school shooting in the USA almost every 96 hours so far in 2018, sit in the room and explain to trump that a rating system already exists for an hour leaves you with 95 on the clock before some other kids lives are in danger because someone with unchecked mental health issues has been bullied to the point where they go home and find their folks gun to bring to class for show and tell.

Honestly if the talk about Video games doesn't at some point mention mental health of kids/teachers or guns then they might as well be in the room playing a game of Fifa for the hour for all the good it will do.

Luckily the switch is known as the kiddy console so any ban on violence will not effect it

Switch is 9th generation. Everyone else is playing on last gen systems! UPDATE: This is no longer true

Not sure if you are aware, but what he said is true. https://www.vox.com/culture/2018/2/22/17042002/donald-trump-movie-ratings

He was talking about games and movies and suggested there should be a rating system.
Anyway, I don't think much will change from this meeting. Trump has to appear like he is doing 'something' about rampant gun violence in USA, so he'll do things like this.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next discussions is to actually enforce penalties on those who break the ratings system. Treating those who sell mature content to minor like those who sell cigarettes or alcohol to minors.

Yeah, I'm aware. It's kind of hard to not hear about his foolishness these days. Near impossible actually.
