But you'd still have to reach Mewtwo in two different playthroughs, even with multiple save files, so you have two play through ecaxtly as much of the game... (BTW I'm not suggesting you can reload an older save, just something like Guacamelee where you can have simultaneous playthroughs, because you have several slots).

Without multiple saves - you have to reach Mewtwo once, trade it to a friend, reset and do it again.

With multiple save files, you have to reach Mewtwo once, trade it to a friend, create a new file, and do it again. Both take the same amount of time, so it's just as tedious and thus still deters farming.

Yeah and? This flat out tells me you never read the whole conversation because the point is it's meant to be as tedious as possible to discourage it and it does you even just repeated what people have said is the tedious procedure to do it. With multiple save files you reduces the number of playthroughs they have to do to get set up and make it easier, on one save they have to play 3 times to get set up with 2 Mewtwos on 2 they only need two playthroughs they wouldn't even need to transfer out the Pokemon on the main save either.

It may be on one side. but on the other side its just a way to cash in double. I hope you understand why

Not sure why people are surprised, I mean this is a KONAMI game so what did you guys expect?

If you still don't know that you need to avoid like the plague anything coming out of the 4 infamous names of video games:

KONAMI, EA, ACTIVISION, UBISOFT then you're not smart enough for your own good and your ass belongs to those 4.

Oh believe me, I'm not surprised, I knew they were gonna pull shit like this. This is the same shitty company that sold a last gen port of PES 2016 on Steam and tried to squeeze as much money out of it as possible by deceptively advertising it with PS4/Xbox One visuals and hiding the user reviews that point out the dishonest port job.

They're the Japanese EA.

What? I know it's meant to be tedious to discourage it. My point is that it's still tedious even with multiple save files, so multiple save files would be completely fine.

How would you need three playthroughs with single save files? You capture a Mewtwo, trade it, reset, capture another Mewtwo and trade it back. That's two playthroughs to get two mewtwos.

This game is 100% horsecrap. I think Konami made it just to trigger Jimsterling and Angryjoe for fun.

I'm not bothered by this at all.

If the game had only one save file and you had to completely delete your save to start over, no other option, people would probably be less angry (Pokemon, Breath of the Wild). However, that just doesn't make sense to me.

EDIT: Also, did one of the past Metal Gear Online games also require you to pay for additional saves?

No other option?  You can play Breath of the Wild on as many accounts as your heart desires to create with a different save file on each.  You don't have to buy extra save slots, and certainly not "have to buy the entire game over again" as you imply.

I don't know how an XBOX ONE works, but on PS4 you can make separate user accounts as well and each user has their own separate save files. i'd imagine the experience is similar on X1. What you're describing for Breath of the Wild is also an option for Metal Gear Survive. The ability to buy additional save slots on the same account is a strict upgrade in comparison to Breath of the Wild...

4 ≈ One

LOL, only 103k copies sold in its first week. 😂 Karma FTW!

I'm glad this shit is blowing up in their face. Otherwise, it would only be a matter of time before companies would charge us just to load the menu screen, or to change control settings, or hell, start charging us a dollar entry fee for online matches. Could you imagine other companies trying to do similar shit with their games? After all, it only takes one scummy business practice being profitable for other companies to follow suit. I'm so glad it backfired with this game.

This is worse than what EA did with SWBFII IMHO for the dangerous precedent alone. Imagine having to unlock the options menu with a loot box/pachinko minigame. Come on, you KNOW some company out there (I'm looking at you, EA, Activision, Rockstar/Take Two) would try something like this if we let Konami get away with it, you know it and I know it.

I'm just gonna end it on an obligatory #FucKonami.
