Big deal. If you log in for 30 days you will earn enough credits to unlock it for your second playthrough.

I didn't actually mean the two versions thing, rather the fact that if you want to start a new game you have to either pay again or delete your save. In that respect it's the exact same.

Multiple saves wouldn't allow you to farm Pokemon and trade them to yourself anyway. You'd still need 2 consoles and 2 copies of the game (plus a link cable for the older ones) in order to do that, so no, that isn't a valid reason.

So what you're saying is if MGS only had 1 character slot with no way to get anymore ever, you'd be totally fine with that, but having the option of buying more you're not ok with?

You could still get them all in one game save via farming, you'd just need a friend to do it at no cost to him/her (or literally to yourself if you happen to have both editions and another console lying around). Let's say the Red/Blue edition(s), you could have 6 lv100 Mewtwos on your team when it's all said and done. You'd just have to trade the Mewtwo from each of the save files back and forth and voila! Oh yes, because this wouldn't cheapen the game at all.

And no, I wouldn't be okay with only one character save full stop in MGS, either. There's a world of difference between only allowing 1 save (or having to pay for additional saves) in a game that allows you to have multiple unique characters and only allowing 1 save to prevent obvious cheating/exploiting in the case of the Pokemon example.

Couldn't you just... patch those exploits? Seems much more sensible than denying you to have multiple save files.

How did we get to this point?

'I don't find a problem with this sort of thing if it's not essential'

At every stage in the devolution of gaming, regardless of how people initially complain, because they feel they have no real power over the outcome, they eventually accept it, seemingly unaware that it's just one step in an ever increasing devolution.

People will never learn.

My thoughts exactly, i don't personally hate Konami and i wasn't going to buy this game either way, but if people start accepting bullshit like this, the gaming industry will continue getting worse... This generation is the worst in all of gaming history so far. It would be nice if next generation is better, but at this rate it might be even worse.

Well, you should, they literally go out of their way to keep ex-employees from getting new jobs and getting health insurance. Current employees aren't spared, either: they slave labor their devs, demote them to cleaning toilets and whatnot. That's some next level despicable shit right there. Hell, I'm pretty sure this is a violation of human rights laws.

But yeah, I already see fanboys on the MGS steam page and Metal Gear Solid reddit trying to defend this shit. Moreover, I see posts from people saying they hate Destiny 2 yet they'll buy the second and third expansions when they drop. This is why EA, Bunglevision and Konami keep pushing their bullshit on us: because gullible fanboys keep eating it up and taking it in the ass.

Ok, now i do hate them lol, they are even worse than EA... Never thought i'd say that about a game company. Activision is another shitty company... I seriously hate where the gaming industry is going...

At least there are some companies i still like including Nintendo and Bethesda.

I agree with you, don't get me wrong, but this particular case is nothing new and the only reason it was brought up, is simply bceause people like to hate on Konami. So it gets a bit boring.

People like to hate on Konami? This is paying for save files for goodness sake. Got another example of something lower than this? Do you see what you did there though? You more or less said complaining about companies that do this is 'boring'. ANOTHER reason this is getting worse.
