And another where I was quicker to change my mind with Pokoko: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8592776. As a result there wasn't a lot of unnecessary back-and-forth.

In these cases, Teeqoz and Pokoko were right and I was wrong. I followed up each conversation with a wall post saying as much. In the end it's OK to be wrong, and in my mind it's more admirable to acknowledge and correct that wrongness than to stand your ground when the facts don't back you up.

Er ... I feel like that instance in particular is something I should apologize for.  A habit of mine is to read something then put responding aside so I can think about it for awhile ... which then leads to me forgetting to respond at all.

Certainly.  I remember taking a chance on Borderlands simply because I liked the style and setting even though it was a "shooter".  It ended up being an absolute blast.  Fallout 3 would actually be the game that completely changed my mind about "FPS" but then a lot of people seem to get grouchy when I call it that.

Fallout 3, NV, and fallout 4 are very much first person RPG Shooters.

On topic.  I was very wrong that the Switch would flop.

At least 85 million tbh

wouldn't be surprised honestly..... My gut is sticking with no more than 75M though..... and that's because thats about how well the 3DS did in over 6 years. I have nothing but the 3ds to liken its sales too.

Heres how i look at it.

Switch is the successor to 3DS, Wii U & Vita. Those 3 devices total sales will reach ~105 million.

Now you can factor in that there are many people owned a combination of those devices who will not likely buy 2 or 3 seperate Switch's (excluding revisions).

On the other hand, you also have to factor in the people who were not interested in any of those devices individually but would like a single device that combined their biggest strengths.

In my opinion, those 2 things will cancel each other out causing Switch to sell over 100 million.

Sorry, but 3 and NV have such shitty shooting mechanics , and on top of that, no iron sights in F3.

Remember the bullshit when you shoot at someone from point blank and miss cause of rng? Yeah, 3 and NV are RPG's in a shooter's disguise, nothing else.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

I don't really care about making predictions and I think this forum's infatuation with "crow" is stupid but one of the few times I did make a prediction, it was really bad--I said the Wii U would sell about 40 million units.

I was wrong when I said a few years ago that smartphones wouldn't hurt handheld sales all that much in the near future (Vita and 3DS gen). I failed to understand just how powerful they would become in a short time.

As far as FPS games go, I was once a gaming elitist, too. I looked down on FPS games because they were gaining popularity over what I liked at the time. That was foolish. Since then, as graphics and game mechanics have evolved, I've come to really appreciate first person perspective.

I was wrong when I said that Girls und Panzer looked lame.

The main problem as far as "admitting you are wrong" is that this forum has several people who pretend they are the gaming version of lawyers or politicians. They will say things that are wrong but when they realize that, they'll just change around the arguments with debating tricks and fallacies until people rol their eyes and give up. People like that influence other people into doing the same thing.

Is there any specific instance you want to talk about?

Are you referring to his freudian slip , rol their eyes in the last paragraph, when he was referencing people using debating tricks and fallacies.

I was wrong about a lot of the Wii U stuff I've predicted and talked about in the past. I know better now. Upsets in sales are pretty uncommon.

I thought the Switch would flop because the price was too high. I was wrong.

I thought BotW DLC would be awesome. I was wrong.

A couple of years ago, I thought Mario Kart 9 would come out in the first year of Ninty's new console. I was wrong.

I thought VR was going to break into the mainstream in 2016. I was wrong.

The champions ballad is pretty awesome though, in my opinion. The 16 new shrines and dungeon alone made it worthwhile.

I was wrong when I backed monster Hunter on ps4 to be a big success. Turns out it was a huge success.

When does it go from big to huge?
