And another where I was quicker to change my mind with Pokoko: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8592776. As a result there wasn't a lot of unnecessary back-and-forth.

In these cases, Teeqoz and Pokoko were right and I was wrong. I followed up each conversation with a wall post saying as much. In the end it's OK to be wrong, and in my mind it's more admirable to acknowledge and correct that wrongness than to stand your ground when the facts don't back you up.

Er ... I feel like that instance in particular is something I should apologize for.  A habit of mine is to read something then put responding aside so I can think about it for awhile ... which then leads to me forgetting to respond at all.

I don't really care about making predictions and I think this forum's infatuation with "crow" is stupid but one of the few times I did make a prediction, it was really bad--I said the Wii U would sell about 40 million units.

I was wrong when I said a few years ago that smartphones wouldn't hurt handheld sales all that much in the near future (Vita and 3DS gen). I failed to understand just how powerful they would become in a short time.

As far as FPS games go, I was once a gaming elitist, too. I looked down on FPS games because they were gaining popularity over what I liked at the time. That was foolish. Since then, as graphics and game mechanics have evolved, I've come to really appreciate first person perspective.

I was wrong when I said that Girls und Panzer looked lame.

The main problem as far as "admitting you are wrong" is that this forum has several people who pretend they are the gaming version of lawyers or politicians. They will say things that are wrong but when they realize that, they'll just change around the arguments with debating tricks and fallacies until people rol their eyes and give up. People like that influence other people into doing the same thing.

Is there any specific instance you want to talk about?

Certainly.  I remember taking a chance on Borderlands simply because I liked the style and setting even though it was a "shooter".  It ended up being an absolute blast.  Fallout 3 would actually be the game that completely changed my mind about "FPS" but then a lot of people seem to get grouchy when I call it that.

I was wrong about PS move controllers being phallic objects with clown noses on them.

No, you were right.

No no, it's alright. I was wrong in saying that the PS move were phallic objects with clown noses on them.

I thought FFXV would be the greatest, I even made the official hype thread in 2014.

Not an unexpected response.

But as you know, I was refering to your final paragraph. I suppose you don't want to leave your comfort zone.

Haha, okay, then.  Here is a pretty good example.

If it makes you feel slightly better, I had a bet with Slarvax (loser would have to eat a lemon) that FFXV wouldn't have a day one patch, since I trusted Tabata's word on that. I was wrong. I was so wrong, man.

Did you eat the lemon? More importantly, have you got pictures and/or videos of you eating the lemon?

You'd have to inquire Slarvax about that.

I don't think I ever posted it on here, but I personally thought all FPS games sucked. Until Bethesda decided to support the Switch. So I decided to get Doom, and I've put over 100 hours into it since January. I love it and plan to get many more FPS games in the future, starting with Wolfenstein 2.

Before releasing, I thought inFamous SS would easily sell 5m due to how hyped (and fun) it was. I was clearly very wrong.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won
