I was wrong quite a bit. It's almost embarrassing. I'll look up a few, though.

Off the top of my head, the prediction that Sony wouldn't release a PS4 until like 2015 because of financial woes and the PS3 being capable enough.

I was wrong about PS move controllers being phallic objects with clown noses on them.

No, you were right.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

I thought Monster Hunter World would flop on Xone - I was wrong!

I thought Xbox One X wouldn't do much for sales - I was wrong!

And I will be totally wrong when I upload my super controversial thread anti-Microsoft saying that its sales will fall on a cliff.

I usually overestimate Sony games, because I need some sort of proof that I'm not a Nintendo fanboy.

This one isn't technically wrong, but I made the mistake of having to much faith in humanity.

I thought the Wii U would do reasonably well.

I thought PS4 sales would drop at least a few million in 17.

I thought Splatoon would sell about a million copies.

Those are the ones that come to mind.

I always think I can win my Sm4sh weeklies, and I'm always wrong.

Next week tho... that's gonna be the one.

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

You can play against me, I bet you'll win easy.

I don't really care about making predictions and I think this forum's infatuation with "crow" is stupid but one of the few times I did make a prediction, it was really bad--I said the Wii U would sell about 40 million units.

I was wrong when I said a few years ago that smartphones wouldn't hurt handheld sales all that much in the near future (Vita and 3DS gen). I failed to understand just how powerful they would become in a short time.

As far as FPS games go, I was once a gaming elitist, too. I looked down on FPS games because they were gaining popularity over what I liked at the time. That was foolish. Since then, as graphics and game mechanics have evolved, I've come to really appreciate first person perspective.

I was wrong when I said that Girls und Panzer looked lame.

The main problem as far as "admitting you are wrong" is that this forum has several people who pretend they are the gaming version of lawyers or politicians. They will say things that are wrong but when they realize that, they'll just change around the arguments with debating tricks and fallacies until people rol their eyes and give up. People like that influence other people into doing the same thing.

Love this thread idea!

Regrettably, I've stopped responding to some members because I know they'll dig in their heels and refuse to budge an inch. It's just not fun.

For my part, I've tried to improve this part of myself. Admitting wrongness is actually quite liberating, I've found, and edifying.

Here's a case where I debated with Teeqoz, and the debate went on longer than it needed to because I was too focused on "winning" than on being objective and honest: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8678641.

And another where I was quicker to change my mind with Pokoko: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=8592776. As a result there wasn't a lot of unnecessary back-and-forth.

In these cases, Teeqoz and Pokoko were right and I was wrong. I followed up each conversation with a wall post saying as much. In the end it's OK to be wrong, and in my mind it's more admirable to acknowledge and correct that wrongness than to stand your ground when the facts don't back you up.

I remember thinking it was ridiculous that those crappy mobile games could ever take away from the handheld market too.
