Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump Wants Something Done About Violent Video Games And Movies; Blames Them For School Shootings.

I’ve got this crazy idea to fix the video game issue; we’ll instate a ratings system on the boxes so that parents buying the games for their children will know whether it it too violent for their kids to see. We’ll rate the most violent as M for Mature ages 17+, the somewhat violent as T for Teen ages 13+, the not very violent but still a little as E 10+ for everyone ages 10+, and then E for Everyone can play it regardless of age. We’ll put these ratings in big black and white lettered boxes that stand out in the corners of the game cases. That should help even the most dumb and illiterate if parents.. Right?..

I wish Trump could be debarked like a canine

Hey, nobody mentioned anything about video games or movies after the shootings that took place out in Las Vegas a few months ago!

I really think this should be politics. This has little to do with the actual games and more to do with Trump being ignorant of the causes of mass shootings.

So I have always agreed with this statement. Even Hillary Clinton has blamed video games in the past. TBH there may be SOME truth, but very little obviously. I do think obsessive behaviors around CERTAIN violent video games could increase aggression. A student in my high school once did a public speaking report on it, and there were studies backing it up. Of course the main factor we see from these shootings is subscription based drugs chosen by psychiatrists/psychologists and made by big Pharma.

That never stopped Democrats from spouting nonsense about guns, even though violent crimes are down dramatically in the US since the early 90s, dropping by nearly half. Guess what we have a metric shit ton of more out in the country...guns.  The amount has actually doubled.  So, 2x as many guns out in the country, yet almost nearly half as many violent crimes. Hmm. Either more guns in law abiding citizens' hands leads to less crime, or one has nothing to do with other. Take your pick.

While violent crime is down nearly half from the 90s, gun ownership has not double since the 90's....in fact, it's gone down since then.

To be fair he said the amount had doubled , so there could be the situation where less households own guns but those that have increased their gun numbers to the extent that they made up for the decline, also we don't know what guns he's talking about it could include the armed forces police , it would help if he linked us to that info.

The other thing to think about is crime  fluctuates and can go up or down depending on factors like increased policing, you can't just attribute it to gun ownership.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

Guns have an insane attach rate ratio is what your saying, lol.

But I saw someone earlier post something like there being like 300 some million guns in the US. Somewhere around the same number of guns as their are people. So most likely gun owners now own more guns than gun owners in the past did. Makes sense considering everytime gun laws are even hinted at in the press gun sales spike. They aren't spiking because Joe Blow went out to buy his first gun, no they spiked because John Doe went out to buy his 10th gun.

Wasn't there a study not too long ago that proved otherwise

Trump isn't the most proactive person when it comes to acknowledging evidence.
And his supporters seem to be oblivious to it.

Either way, Americans voted for him, it's their own fault.

The florida gunman was lucky that Trump wasn't in the neighbourhood because Trump has now said he would of Rushed in there unarmed to remove the threat, why isn't our Leader as much of a hero as Trump, that guys a walking Rambo

Movies, music, games, guns.... every fucking thing except what it is... a societal breakdown and a people who are unwilling to better parent and better care for mentally ill human beings and provide them the help they need.

The deflection is so obvious.
