Forums - Politics Discussion - Trump Wants Something Done About Violent Video Games And Movies; Blames Them For School Shootings.

I blame the extreme lack of background checks for guns and the warmongering culture of the U.S. more than I blame violent video games. If anything, they are a by-product of a trigger-happy culture, not a cause.

No. I'm pretty sure most of them do that especially when they go off script or don't use a written speech. He's in his 70's so it's to fair to give him a pass on not being knowledgeable about video games.

It seems many give him a pass for not being knowledgable period.

My favorite quote in the article was that gun-free zones are the most dangerous places.

That's a sentiment many Americans actually agree with.

No opinion here, no one can censor what we do or see. As an adult, this means nothing to me. To be honest, when I see a big metal bank truck I think of GTA5 and hoe we robbed the money from it. So yeah, give kids more strict access to violent media.

That’s 100% on the parents’s side though...we all know parents buy their 12 year old kids GTA. That said, even if they don’t, the kid that wants to play it will find another way, be it with the antisocial bully of his school or older kids.

We all know the situation. Ban something and it becomes twice as interesting as a result.

Then why is this a concern for anyone, but kids under 17 or 18?

Yeah right, it's video games that cause shootings and not guns, never guns...
Some people have very serious issues with logic. Spock would have a heart attack if he lived in America now.

Who would think gun culture (like parents teaching kids how to shoot, or kill animals) is what leads to these massacres? It’s obviously because they play videogames.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

Alright so as far as we know its not video game the cause of violence for normal people, you have to think for people with metal disorders cause i know someone with only a tiny problem but when he was playing video games he was super violent with people around him and then stopped once they found out and made him stop playing.

Of course you can't remove all violent video games but maybe the entourage of these troubled people should not let them play. Cause there is many case where someone can't see the difference between a video game and real life whether its a mental issue or drugs. Like it has been the case before.

Its just like guns even thought this case is really less important. Someone with no issues wont kill someone with a gun but you have to think from a mental disorder point of view sometimes.

Japan has violent video games, movies, and cartoons. They have no mass shootings. They also don't have the NRA.

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5

Always love when someone comes out and blames video games for violence. The vehement defending and crying on sites like this that video games are not the problem is basically identical to people crying that guns are not the problem, or anything else people love that is getting blamed for something.

The whole world consumes violent entertainment, yet we only see this things in the USA...hmmm...

I know you meant to say mental disorder instead of metal, but I wouldn't be surprised if Trump tried attacking heavy metal music next.
