if xbox was really in second place i will be surprised,didn't think the overall image of the brand was that positive right now.But regardless,it did well,so i guess you can't underestimate that the quality of the services microsoft offers appeal for a respectable portion of users(for xbox of course,windows 10 can go to hell).
Ps4 is the same price as switch and it was topped dollar sales. How did the switch come 1st?
So even despite the PS4 getting several high profile releases such as, and especially, Monster Hunter World, DragonBall Fighter Z, etc in January it still couldn't take first place, where as Switch had like almost nothing noteworthy in January and still beat everything else.
As someone said earlier in this thread, Switch hardware is still just selling itself basically if it can win that month still with almost nothing noteworthy. Fantastic sales for the Switch.

those are not what i consider system sellers for ps4, sure they help, but nothing like spider man, GOW, Red dead, plus ps4 is 5 years old with only 100$ price cut at 249$ its gonna blow away switch, it will only be able to compete decmber.

It may have actually done it, but if I see another post saying it came in second before we know for sure, my head is gonna spin completely off my neck.

Xbox 1s was $180 the first week of January and PS4 was $300 but then the Xbox Price went back up to I think $250.

Nothing in that statement says XBoX > PS4 in January.
Great month for video games overall.
Switch is still on fire, despite not having a major release this month. Doom and Skyrim charting on the top 10 switch games is a very good sign.
Monster Hunter and DBFZ sold well.
PUBG bounces from #7 to #4 in sales rankings. Pretty great for a game that's $30, considering the list is based off revenue generated and not number of copies sold.

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Very tiring argument considering the PS4 had its best year ever last year. It being 4 or 5 years old doesn't affect its sales in a negative way. The first year of a console is almost never the best year anyway. Why people keep using the age excuse is beyond me.
And Sony isn't the only company that can use price cuts to boost sales lol.
