Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Doom on Switch now has gyro aiming

Awesome! Any footage of gyro aiming in action?

You know it deserves the GOTY.

Why not? It's not an unfair advantage if everyone has the option.

Not everyone enjoys gyro aim, and the further you progress in the game, the more disadvantage there is. It's the same thing with keyboard and mouse. You can play against K&M payers using your regular controller, but once the game becomes more competitive, you really shouldn't.

Then don't, nobody is forcing them to use an inferior method. Those who opt out of gyro do so of their own volition, they're gimping themselves by choice.

This long after release I really didn't expect they'd actually bother to implement this; that they have is a real credit to the devs for listening to community feedback.

Take note guys; next time you want something in a game, speak up and ask the developer, you might actually get it.

Holy macaroni... Bethesda actually listened O.o

This is just great. I would have prefered pointing controls alla Wiimote + Nunchuk... but this is still pretty good. I will have to give it a try when I get home ^^

BTW, do we have a list of what this patch does... besides Motion Controls and the icon menu change? Does it fix sound and controls glitches? Framerate pacing? I'm really curious...

I have to say, I'm really pleased that so far, there seems to be a trend with developers actually supporting the Switch Versions of their games with meaningfull content and performance updates.

And not just Nintendo centric developers, known for putting the work in like Shi'nen, either. The Switch is actually getting good ports so far (at least mostly.....eherm ww2k18) and thats nice to see.

While it is sad that games aren't quite ready at launch and don't come complete on the cart anymore, I'm happy that developers are at lest using their chance to incoorperate community feedback, wich is great.

Sure, but they kind of did force them to use an inferior method by not giving them a choice to begin with. Like I said previously, there's a simple solution to that problem. If you're all for choice, then give people who prefer classic controls a choice to play against players who use superior method, or not.

Sales must be decent for there to be significant updates. Gyro aiming sounds great.

git good, if you choose to suck then die like a non-gyro scrub ;)

Nice I might now have to really consider buying the game.

I already played Doom Switch version with motion/gyro aiming on & motion sensitivity 95%, funny, it works pretty well done on both gamepads joycon and switch pro controller, you will shoot demons quicker than you used to aim with analog stick. There's reset camera by clicking left stick if you messed up the aiming.

I also like the joycon with gyro aiming on, it reminds me of playing Metroid Prime 3 on the Wii.

Great addition!

In our age where games tend to receive DLCs and updates weeks/months after release I will not buy in the future games at launch anymore. Once I purchase a game I want all content available and a good working game.

YES!

My biggest complain with this game has been fixed.
