Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Whats with publishers and Switch carts?

Are they just too expensive?

Just saw that the physical version of Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2 on Switch comes with MMLC1 on cart and a download code for MMLC2.

This is really disappointing to me. I thought carts would be awesome, but it seems several publishers just don't want to use the bigger ones. Even though Mega Man 1-10 hardly needs a huge cart. Not even Nintendo themselves want to do it(Bayonetta 1 and 2)

How do you feel about this?

No, they aren't too expensive. Carts are just an excuse to move more and more to digital downloads for third parties.

It's ridiculous, people buy a physical version because they want the physical version. Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2 is a combined 5.2GB on PS4 and there is no way it is going to be any bigger on Switch. Don't like this trend, give me the whole collection on the cart or fuck off, same goes for Bayonetta

This is the most absolute laziness from Capcom. MM Collection could EASILY fit in one card, and a small one even.

Switch Friend Code: SW - 1286-0025-9138

This is really dumb. There is no real excuse for Capcom to not just put the whole game on a single cartridge, SPECIALLY when it's just a compilation of really small games.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I can understand it for big downloads but i refuse to believe Mega Man Collection 1+2 cant fit on a standard cartridge.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

The one thing that really pisses me off is that Legacy 1 is ~300MB on PS4, while Legacy 2 is ~5GB, yet they put the smaller sized game on the cart.

Like... *sigh* nevermind you get the point.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Just don't buy it. If the game doesn't sell well it will teach the publisher a lesson not to do it again.

They already did it with the Resident Evil Revelation collection...

It's just Capcom being Capcom, nothing new to see here
