Forums - Nintendo Discussion - How strong will Nintendo Switch 2 be in 2027?

Dead, because they'll be two years into Switch 3.

So some people are indeed overestimating the power of the theoretical Switch's sucessor given its undocked mode often loses even to the X360 (the main exception being possibly when the X360 was RAM starved) and that's a 12 year old hardware, from a time die shrinks were much easier as well.

No, it does not.

It's quite crazy that we're less than 10 years away from 2027, that's what impresses me the most about this discussion.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

Switch 2 will be no more powerful in 2027 than it will be when it first gets released in the period between 2019 and 2023 depending on when Nintendo and Nvidia decide to spit out the second iteration.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

It'll the same power it is when it launches in 2019, which will be less than the 3rd iteration of the Switch that launches in 2021. (I could see 3 year iterations vs 2, but I think 2 is more likely... think mobile iterations vs historical console generations... same with future PS/XB)

Yeah the Switch's successor launching in 2027 is about as likely as the next Playstation iteration launching in 2023. There's simply no good reason to wait that long, 10 years is an eternity in this industry.
