Current gen consoles have had lots of high quality games and some of them were quite overlooked and some others were underrated for some feature that didn't appeal to gamers even though they did a lot else right. Here is my list.

1) Batman: Arkham Knight - There isn't any game this gen so hated by fans of its series as Batman: Arkham Knight and I feel most of the hate was unsubstantiated and wrongly directed at the game as a whole, when the biggest issue it had was a messed up PC port while the PS4 version was just incredible and still is one of the best looking PS4 game. The other problem brought up by people, the Batmobile wasn't too bad and the rest of the game had the greatness of the Arkham games, good level design, story and pacing. This game is my 2nd favourite of 2015 and better than Witcher 3 to me.

2) GT Sport - This game is beautiful, plays brilliantly, has great online and a good campaign. The reviews at launch weren't completely off the mark but they were too critical about what the game didn't do rather than what it did. That is not true now anyways, this game now has a good campaign, more cars and tracks on top of a strong base foundation in its fantastic gameplay and driver and sportsmanship rating.

Arkham Knight was pretty solid. GT Sport is pretty well liked from what I understand. Rainbow Six Seige is incredibly popular right now. Titanfall 2 was a financial disappointment but many call it the best shooter of this gen. Driveclub is getting better. Alien: Isolation was adored by fans. The Last Guardian was fairly well liked. Infamous: Second Son is good, but very short and repetitive. Assassin's Creed: Syndicate is meh.

Arkham Knight is solid but it gets a lot of hate online.

GT Sport has poor reviews that no doubt have an impact on sales and reputation and many wouldn't play the game either way so they'll go by what the reviews say. Same with Rainbow Six: Siege and Driveclub.

Alien: Isolation was given 5.9 by IGN and IGN has a huge impact on many people's perception. Its the only source lots of gamers in my circle trust.

The Last Guardian had mixed reception by both fans and reviewers. Many people don't seem to understand the game and review it on a purely mechanical basis which doesn't serve it justice.

Infamous: Second Son isn't short, 2 playthroughs took me 21 hours. Its not at all repetitive, the gameplay had me hooked on both playthroughs. Like the other Infamous games its dayum fun to play.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate was a good game and London was well crafted. Its all right gameplay wise too but the city is just soo good and really deserves more praise.

Arkam Knight was pretty bad. The vehicle segments were awful, and Batman's new abilities in stealth mode make those segments way too easy. There's some decent stuff since the original games were decent, but really no reason to play it over Arkham City.

As for underrated games, Wonderful 101, Kid Icarus Uprising, come to mind depending on what generations you consider those games.

Gravity Rush 2, while not as good as the first one, has some pretty amazing visuals, music, and the ending was beautiful.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Fallout 4, after the patches, is the most stable bgs game yet. They added a pretty good survival mode too.
Fallout 3 tried to be a shooter and rpg at the same time, and was shitty at both (remember missing shots from point blank, even when the crosshairs are squarely on the foe?) . Fallout 4 is a Farcry game but way more depth and light rpg elements. I agree, the dialogue system was shit, but other than that, it was a huge improvement from fallout 3.

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

Also AssCreed Origins deserves much more than 81 metascore. It's on par with horizon, if not better than it.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds. As long as not every single person on this entire planet considers it to be the best game ever made, it's still underrated.

I got to say Splatoon 2, the game just keeps on offering new content. A new weapon the Sloshing Machine Neo literally just came out yesterday, its amazing that Nintendo is willing to give huge amounts of post release content for free. Also it helps that the gameplay, music, visual style etc. are all great.

Alien Isolation didnt get enough love. I'm sad to see we'll never get a sequel to it,but instead getting just another shooter :(
