Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Kimishima on the current stock situation with Switch

I was told a few days ago that the "difference would be huge" if the Switch wasn't supply constrained. Now I'm all confused. Do I trust our valued VGC members or should I believe this shifty Kimishima fellow?

Its easily buyable here in the eu.

Well, dunno if that can be said so easily, as europe consists of lots of very different countries. So readily available in one can still mean hard or impossible to get in another. That said, I think the biggest markets are supported, so we talk about low amounts that are missing here to completely satisfy demand.

Its hard when people use the word "Europe" since there is soooo many countries in there.

Pocky Lover Boy!

Right now there is no shortage in Europe.

The switch sells really well here and is easily available. But yes, there was a big shortage from march through september 2017

It isn't the first time people blow Switch's stock problems out of proportion, but it's strange to see them use this argument in a time where PS4 is obviously struggling more with meeting demand due to Monster Hunter World exceeding expectations.

With that being said, the baseline in Japan sounds closer to 55k~ (45k-65k) than 40k under perfect stock conditions, which is pretty good assuming it doesn't fall lower. The price will have to go down if Nintendo wants it to fully assimilate the handheld playerbase.

Lol, no.

And price doesn't need to go down. Just you wait when Pokémon, Animal Crossing and even Yokai Watch have released on the Switch.

I think some people need to realize that there is a huge middleground between easy to find and sold out.

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

I’ve seen a few units in one store recently and no stock in another. While I think the stock problems are resolving, the Switch isn’t necessarily readily available as if 5-10 units are in most stores.

Last i checked there was plenty of stock here in the Netherlands. I literally remember seing a mountain of them on the mediamarkt during Christmas and my regular game mania was stocked aswell.

Only way it sold out is if Nintendo cut off all shipments since.

I checked the website and it's still in stock, so i dunno where this "sold out" thing is.

Dang, almost a year later and still there are stock issues in Japan. I figure it would be resolved by now. I have a hard time believing Europe had stock issues though.
