How much sleep do you need?

I need a good 9 hours of sleep a night if I want to be useful. I have no idea why.

Personally, I probably need 7-8 hours of sleep. 6 or less and I have a hard time functioning in the day.

Depends on my mood. When I'm depressed I still feel tired even with 12 hours or more, but when I'm really up I am fine with like 5 hours. I generally try to get 8 hours in a day.

8 hours is the sweetspot, and usually what I end up sleeping every night anyway. I can do with 7 hours occasionally, but any less can be a problem for my day.



Agree with another poster. If I'm depressed I can sleep the whole day and not feel energy. I personally have determined that it comes from these factors in my life:

- Am I passionate about my job?
- Am I passionate about my household members?
- Am I passionate about my girlfriend?
- Am I passionate about my future prospects?
- Am I passionate about my living space?

If I have these criteria met then I don't need energy drinks or much more than 8 hours of sleep.

I don't use energy drinks or coffee/hot chocolate myself, really for me my laptop is the mechanism that wakes me up.

8-9 hours



I get anywhere from 2-4 hours sleep per night, and on my days off (Which come quite rare for me, lol) I can get maybe 5-6 if I'm lucky.
